Aren’t the host broadcaster graphics for Catalan Dragons games always Sky Sports style? I thought they were in French the last time I saw them. That said, that picture seems to be actual Sky Sports graphics (see the logo), rather than someone else using Sky’s templates.

Meanwhile, in rugby union, the European Rugby Challenge Cup is getting a new logo this season and will now be the “ECPR Challenge Cup”, with quite a different look (preparing for the admission of SA teams to the tournament in 2022-23, I guess). So there’s likely to be new TV graphics too, though the colour scheme is a bit garish. Means both EPCR competitions have dropped the unwieldy names they were given in 2014 in favour of snappier ones.

I did happen to be watching that game on Sky last night. The commentators did at one point voice their displeasure that 'the host broadcaster is not showing any shots of the travelling fans', so odd that the host was using Sky-branded graphics.

The video ref sequences were in French and played straight to air - there didn't seem to be a big screen in the stadium to point a camera at.

On last nights Europa League action as a Hammers fan I watched the West Ham v Rapid Vienna match and Ian Darke & Lucy Ward commentated and especially Lucy Ward was excellent, she really added to the commentary with insight and would put some of the male counterparts to shame (won't mention any names). Still see a few comments on twitter slagging her and the likes of Karen Carney and Alex Scott but generally the women coming through on the major broadcasters have been excellent.

On Sky Sports Mix, Stan Sports, who are the Australian host broadcaster for the Rugby championship, are interviewing Will Greenwood, from his house, giving his thoughts on the autumn internationals. I just wonder if he may be involved, in some way, with the autumn international coverage, either with Amazon, or perhaps Stan Sports.

According to the 506sports forum, NBC had to switch to the world feed as well.

Back at the URC - Cardiff's scorebug box had a black chevron in the first half, it's now a grey chevron, because the black was occluding the R of Cardiff.

Interesting development (if its not a mistake) considering it had been thought BT would retain the Cricket Australia rights.

Think for the first time sine March 2020 (didn't closely watch last week so may have happened then) but Match of the Day's post-match interviews were conducted in the tunnel rather than outside along the touchline at Chelsea v. Southampton and Leeds v. Watford. Guess it might have been down to the bad weather but the other matches remained with outdoor interviews despite the rain.
Another small step on the return to normality anyway!

I am not sure if the commitment to Athletics has been dropped this year as it seems like it had more with the Great Manchester Run was on BBC one yesterday as I am sure some years that has only been on BBC2.

I would say Channel Four might well be more interested than ITV. Through both would have to build a presenting and production team from scratch for just one day unless they go for further athletics rights, If I remember rightly ITV gave up bidding for the Boat Race as the cost of doing that when they had the rights was too much hassle

Anyone know what the "£3m commitment" to UK Athletics, mentioned in the Telegraph article, included?

BBC 2 going heavier than I ever remember on "stories" and mass participants instead of showing the elite races. Yes you can watch the elites uninterrupted on iPlayer -- and I am -- but you miss out on the Radcliffe and Cram commentary, which I enjoy.

I had heard a rumour that BT had only signed for the international matches and not the domestic - I guess this answers that question.

There still hasn't actually been an announcement about The Ashes, has there?
