* John Inverdale, Jeremy Guscott or Brian Moore finished on the 6 Nations (Jonathan Davies overdue to be shown the door too)
* Garth Crooks & Mark Lawrenson also away from BBC football coverage
* John Virgo & Dennis Taylor due to leave Snooker coverage in 2023
Dare I say budget cuts partly due to the licence fee freeze may be a factor. I imagine that some of these long serving individuals may be a lot more expensive than employing newer equivalents.
Probably more due to loss of rights due to cuts than salaries in the case of the rugby - even though John Inverdale was their main Six Nations presenter I suspect Gabby was preferred moving forward, especially as she's a regular across BBC Sport across the year on other things more so than John.
Inverdale accepted a position with the Rugby Football Union, which obviously would have come into conflict with his presentation role.
The fact that BBC will show only one live England men's Six Nations game annually meant that it was time to dispense with Jeremy Guscott, while Brian Moore moved to co-commentate on the Women's Six Nations matches, which are wholly live on the BBC.
Seems Wales, Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland Nations League rights have been won by Premier Sports - no announcement yet but starting to appear in their advanced schedules.

How does Premier Sports rate these days - it never seems to get listed in any TV guide even though it arguably has a more noteable line up than Eurosport most of the time.
I'm guessing they've done it all season but "Player In" and "Player Out" for the substitutes doesn't seem as natural as "Player On" and "Player Off", or just a green and red arrow.
Premier Sports is showing Everton v Crystal Palace in Ireland tonight, unusual since it isn’t either a 3pm or Amazon game.

That’s the odd thing. Normally if a 3pm pick gets rearranged, Premier will just switch it’s pick to one of the remaining 3pms, rather than pick up the game at it’s rescheduled time and that’s usually facilitated. Worth noting that, aside from a LaLiga game if there’s one in that slot and the very very odd League of Ireland fixture on RTE, Premier Sports 3pm game is normally the only live football on TV at that time so getting any game is normally more important to them than following the pick.
I have half a suspicion it’s in lieu of Everton v Newcastle on St Patrick’s Day, which Premier should have had but didn’t. That was an Amazon game rather than a 3pm.
I think that Everton v Crystal Palace was meant be a Saturday 3pm game but got moved due to Palace's involvement in the FA Cup semi final that weekend. Also, on the final day on Sunday, Sky are showing Man City v Aston Villa, Liverpool v Wolves and Brentford v Leeds.
Don't blame me if this isn't true but the Daily Mirror are today speculating Channel 4 will use Kate Abdo as presenter for their coverage of England matches and will not use Clive Tyldesley and that ITV will use Hugh Woozencroft for their EFL Highlights.

I think the Premier League are missing a trick by not allowing all the final day games to be shown live as they did in the last two years during the Covid restrictions.

Why? No additional viewers are likely to watch any additional matches - each of us can only watch one at a time - so it is not in the broadcasters' interests - indeed BT would rather have a game earlier in an exclusive slot than have a second pick go up against two or three from Sky.
There aren't any additional viewers out there.
Under the existing deals, Sky could save, say, six picks, but they too do not consider it worthwhile.
