RugbyPass get international rights to the All Blacks July series, at €10 a game. Not sure how successful their SuperRugby coverage has been (Aoteroa was a great tournament, Trans-Tasman not so much) but this will really be one for the purists considering that Saturday sees a full strength NZ side, the consistently best professional rugby players in the world, take on a team of mostly amateur Tongan players (13 uncapped players in the match day 23!). (Bonus coverage of Maori All Blacks v Samoa though for anyone buying that game).
I think it’s already been mentioned that a rare rugby union pickup by Sky sees them show South Africa v Georgia, Ireland (v Japan/USA) and England on Channel 4, some suggestion that Scotland (v Romania/Georgia) could be with Premier Sports, and fans wanting to see Australia v France seem to be out of luck.

To be fair to Sky, it hardly seems fair to pull them up over a sponsorship announcement made that very day on the other side of the world, that mostly relates to a supposedly different team in a competition they don’t show. They wouldn’t normally have mentioned the sponsors of the SA franchises at all (witness how the accompanying graphic doesn’t say “Cell C Sharks”) but for the similar team names.

Interesting and you're right about the purists. I used to rather enjoy the weekend SR games and would have seen this one, but in no way am I going the PPV and/or streaming route.
You've mentioned about Australia not having any UK broadcaster, and I'm probably reading far too much into all of this...
The PR & reporting around Sky's 2016 deal with Sanzaar reads of Sky going "all-in" to secure the international games primarily but probably taking the club matches as a bonus ball.
Now we have the Kiwis breaking away and making their own online-only arrangements while leaving Australia effectively out in the cold. I'm hoping that the Rugby Championship in August/September could be the start of a more mainstream and/or long-term arrangement.
I think that’s a fair assessment, and it seems to me that, with the SARU now effectively cast out of the club side of Sanzaar and being thus half-in half-out of the organisation, the Kiwis now believe their product can be sold directly on its own without needing the Australians (although they were in on the Trans-Tasman aspect, obviously).
Whether this is a consequence of not having picked up an overall Sanzaar deal, or a deliberate strategy being pursued, I’m not sure. Up until now I would have said the former but when I see NZ internationals (albeit against very weak opposition) being on PPV it makes me wonder if it is deliberate. RugbyPass is owned by Sky NZ, which is the domestic broadcaster of virtually all NZRU rugby and thus very close to them.
I won’t be taking up RugbyPass on this occasion, but if they end up having The Rugby Championship (if there is one this year) I would seriously consider it.

Australia v. France confirmed on Sky Sports. Odd that the matches are midweek not weekend like almost every other rugby match oustide of World Cups.
