Think it is his first major appearencein English. He was in Channel 4's press release when they first started showing the Champions Cup but didn't do much because he was refereeing most weeks, I think he only did some explainer VTs and appered on The Big Tackle. He also was a pundit for the
2019 Champions Cup final per ICDB. He also has appeared remotely on BBC Wales' Scrum V highlights, especially around the Six Nations. this year.
Going back to the ANC graphics, I think it is the clearest public sign that the Autumn rights are due to be sold centrally. There was also world feed commentary today which is not usually the case for a Wales home match.
I think they've just centralised the host broadcasting contract which won't automatically lead to a combined broadcasting deal, though that does seem most likely.
Nigel Owens credited as supplying "special comments" alongside the commentary team today rather than it being dubbed "analysis".
And the commentary being done off tube in London, with only Sarra Eglan Thomas being out in South Africa.
As an aside, is the Lions contract done on a tour by tour basis? Also, I always thought that the Lions tours, since 1997, were part of the Sanzar contract, as News corp. had the worldwide TV rights to internationals in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. I'm assuming that the Lions agree their own UK tv deal, as opposed to the Sanzar doing it.
Have to mention a couple of Gary Imach’s (as always) brilliant lines from ITV’s Tour De France coverage so far:
“You might notice looking at our set that Brittany this year looks suspiciously like Nice last year and they both look a bit like a British back garden. That’s because for the second year running the pandemic means we’re covering the race from Kent, which has got a lot of French lorries parked in it, but isn’t actually France.”

I think it’s been fairly well flagged that there will be a centralised AI deal, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is centralised branding too (that “Autumn Nations Series” in the WRU press releases may be alluding to it, and Guinness’ deal with the IRFU for the “Guinness Series” seems to be over).
As for Lions v Lions, a few tidbits. The yellow bottom line text on the lower thirds quite difficult to read on the red background. As I think has already been mentioned , Sam Warburton and Will Greenwood the co-commentators with Conor McNamara, with rules analyst (or “special comments”!) Nigel Owens. The SA Lions team on the scoreboard as “SIG”, so their for one match only sponsors (they will be sponsoring the Golden Lions in the Currie Cup on an ongoing basis) got 80+ minutes on the scorebar as the team identifier, but probably not much else Sky could have done in the circumstances to avoid confusion. (Were they originally going to use “EMI”, I wonder).

BBC Radio Cymru were in the fortunate position to call the Sigma Lions "Lions" and the British & Irish Lions "Llewod" (Lions in Welsh), which is the best compromise I've come across. Guess S4C will do similar tonight unless they take the host broadcast/Sky graphics.
S4C's highlights are tonight at 22:30 but I haven't seen any time mentioned for the All4 highlights (they were mentioned briefly at being available tomorrow today). Any ideas on that or any of the presentation?
It was also mentioned during Ireland v. Japan next week's match v. USA will be on Channel 4 Sport YouTube. Not sure what Channel 4 are showing to be unable to put it on any of their linear TV channels but a little disappointing to see it reduced to online only.
Frustrates me too when they have their own streaming platform yet it gets chucked out on YouTube. Not sure what time the Ireland game is but they have England v Canada from 2.30pm.
RTE will be happy with that, I guess. Was it concerns about how an Ireland game might rate in prime time, I wonder.

Talking of host broadcaster graphics, Sky had a clean feed, but when it came to bring up the (Sigma) Lions team sheet, the graphics failed, and there was a hasty cut to a dirty feed from SuperSport, although normal service resumed quickly enough.

Agree but YouTube is usually HD and usually allows you to rewind and pause action which can be useful. The above is rarely guaranteed outside of iPlayer and Amazon. Plus there's probaby a better chance of casual fans picking up a match on YouTube (through the algorithm and higher amount of users) than through All4 exclusively I guess. But no genuine excuse for it not to be on actual TV.

S4C have bespoke graphics, certainly the team sheets look a bit like the graphics style of the Lions social media graphics etc. They have "LION" for Sigma Lions and "LLEW" for B&I Lions. They're also presenting from the big screen in the concourse of the BBC Wales HQ.
The Lions YouTube had special graphics on their highlights last week, not the Channel 4/World Feed graphics. These are not what S4C are using though.

All of the summer games seem to have piecemeal broadcast arrangements to be fair, but it's another slant that could be just as valid as any other.
