Did Sky previously just take Foxtel coverage or was there a separate world feed? Stan Sports (essentially Channel 9) now have the rights down under.

It’s the domestic coverage, more or less, and last year included (for games in New Zealand) the full pre game and half time shows from Sky NZ. The recent Australia v France series which aired on Sky took Stan/Nine’s coverage, including the half time show (from their ridiculously large set with its two presenters and a number of pundits!).
Games in Argentina are slightly different obviously because the domestic coverage is in Spanish. On Sky you’d have ESPN graphics in English accompanied by the commentary of the away country’s broadcaster. I guess this constitutes a world feed.
That TalkSport thing is unfortunate. You can see from the presenters faces that they immediately realised what the caller said and motioned to dump it, which it was... but only on radio.
They're getting criticised for not apologising on air when it happened, but of course as far as they were concerned it didn't! Those involved in the radio programme acted as they should
I'm not sure how they should handle that on their video streaming, it's easy on radio and has been done for decades. Seems it's either been overlooked with the advent of online streaming, or it wasn't possible/feasible to do it. I wonder if their other stations are being streamed the same way?

Just to clarify, are you saying that rights have been awarded today, for a competition that starts tomorrow?! Sorry to ask - football isn't my thing but last-minute deals (*cough* Sanzaar *cough) are very much a topic of interest.
ITV4's stopgap coverage of La Liga the other year wasn't announced until a few hours before transmission - I think generally the press release can't go out until the contract is signed, which might give you an idea of how close to the wire these things can go!

No announcement on who has the rights to that yet, it starts next week (and Bundesliga 2 started a couple of weeks ago!). No news of Serie A yet either, which starts a week later.
The rumour mill suggests both might have new, different homes, but we'll see.

Something which appears to be confirmed though (in as much as it's in the published listings) is that BT Sport have Portuguese football again, starting with Porto v Belenenses on Sunday.

Couldn't they just use the same audio from the radio side and delay the video as required? Unless there is something I am missing that seems like the easiest and cheapest way of doing it, and removes the need for multiple clean-up devices.

Karen Carney joining the Sky Sports team for PL, EFL and WSL for the new season. They’ve also announced Michelle Owen as the new EFL presenter, and (as expected) Seb Hutchinson is joining the Sky Sports WSL team.
Genuinely think these are some good signings from Sky, especially Carney.
Seems on paper that it's a much reduced offering from the previous BT Deal(s).

I'd have thought it would be easy enough to avoid the Bundesliga results to play out some or all of the 2.30pm kick offs at 5.30 as an alternative match choice.
Surprised in a way that Sky have acquired the Bundesliga as they have plenty of domestic football in similar slots. But the key phrase IMO in
the official press release is "The deal widens the Sky - Bundesliga partnership, with deals in place across the Sky Group in UK/ROI, Italy, Germany (including German language rights in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and South Tyrol) and Austria." showing that Sky and the DFL have a strong relationship already. The DFL have also expanded their relationship with BeIN Sports in France to Turkey as well this year and Sky Germany also renewed the Premier League so are also looking at holding the same rights in multiple territories.
It will be interesting to see what level of coverage Sky gives the league on their channels with so much to show on Sky Sports Football. BT Sport's YouTube offering by the end of last season was a 5/6mins highlights of Bayern and Dortmund matches (even those not shown live due to blackout etc.) and a few other clips so it will be good if Sky do expand that. The league did show 2mins highlights of each match on their YouTube last season and I presume that will continue this season.
A surprise too that the 2. Bundesliga is not included or mentioned in the deal. It may be the second league but it is operated by the DFL like the Bundesliga (English equivalent would be if the Championship was operated by the Premier League) and is included in other broadcast deals, like BT's old deal and ESPN+ in the USA. There is also many big name teams (Hamburg, Scahlke etc.) in a highly unpredictable league. Bundesliga journalist
Chris Williams notes in his article on the deal: "There has been, as yet, no mention of 2.Bundesliga coverage – but sources at both Schalke and Hamburg told FussballStadt that they were optimistic that the league could be brought to UK screens as soon as possible; be that with Sky, or through a streaming service."
Finally from the Bundesliga, new graphics mean new titles. Also a radical evolution rather than revolution. Presume the 1.Bundesliga titles will have imagery like the old one with the previous 2. Bundesliga also a simpler version. Prefer the slight remix of theme too.

Saturday teatime is the Premier League on Sky, so not really. The Football League matches are on Saturday lunchtimes. Friday nights are a regular Football League slot but presumably any German football in that slot will be on Mix or online or something.
