It seems there was some disgruntlement over it in the US - not over the DOG per se! More the reason for the Peacock DOG was that yesterday’s game was a Peacock exclusive - the first time an ND home game hasn’t appeared on traditional TV since 1991 (though some have been moved to NBCSN or USA), and turned out to be an unexpected close game too. That said given the day that was in it you can understand if NBC had other priorities than sports.

There is a brief compilation of the best shots and a clip of the winning point on the BBCs report (credited as ‘Courtesy of Amazon Prime Video’), from a feed with no Amazon branding. Perhaps they’ve still got whatever rights they bought, they’re just not making the highlights programme as they feel it’s not worth it.
The BBC’s live page last night had the winning point clip almost immediately, which would also imply some kind of deal.
The BBC have access to the clean feeds already got their radio commentary in Salford so wouldn't have required anything additionally technically and means they don't have to screen grab from Amazon for highlights etc (although presumably still need to credit them on news bulletins etc)

For the radio commentary the BBC would have had the clean international feeds, not the Amazon coverage.
Clips on news bulletins during the tournament have been from the Amazon coverage (complete with Prime Video DOG).
The website clips are clean of the DOG, but contain the Amazon commentary (different from the world feed), so would be in addition to what they otherwise had.

Highly doubt it as their model is based on selling on the free to air rights. Even with the forfeiting of their own exclusive rights to 2018/20 the BBC covered the UK proportion of the fee Discovery paid the IOC and in most European countries they on sold the rights despite having prominent free to air channels of their own.
The Olympics are 2024 and the BBC already have the rights to it.

There is a Winter Games in 2026 and no European rights holder as of yet, I think.
The question now is surely what rights Amazon are going to be interested in snapping up next.
The fact they struck a deal with a broadcaster to allow FTA coverage is something that Sky almost certainly wouldn't want to do on something as high profile.

Stand corrected - forgot about that one! It'll be interesting to see what happens when the next round of bidding comes up. They've already taken some French football rights and reports are they're set to get more NFL in the US.

Yes, that was partly down to public pressure too. But it was also useful to Sky who could use it to plug their Ashes coverage that summer.
I guess with the lack of Murdoch involvement at Sky governments of all colours, might be encouraged to weigh in more on this sort of thing.
