The Beeb always had first pick in every round in the previous deal, although replays alternated. In this new deal I think it alternates, with the Beeb getting the first, third and fifth round, and the semi-finals and ITV the second, fourth and sixth round.
With ITV basically taking over the BT half of the contract, it means that ITV win out in terms of quantity, but the Beeb - with first picks in the third round and semi-final - do so in terms of quality.

Just to add to your comment, the free to air broadcaster when sharing with a Pay TV broadcaster whether the BBC or ITV has had 1st pick for each round since 2001. This probably came about because of the disastrous contract from 1997-2001 where Sky had 1st pick, ITV had 2nd pick and BBC had Saturday highlights on MOTD (and I think ITV had highlights of replays)

Yes, that deal from 1997-2001 probably did as much to devalue the FA Cup as anything, with Sky having all the first picks and ITV getting second choice. As you say, the Beeb still had Saturday highlights, so ITV didn't get much for their money, five second choice live games from the third round to the semi-finals, the final shared with Sky and replay highlights. And of course during this period Man U withdrew in 1999/2000 which meant in the four seasons of the deal, ITV got to show Man U exclusively live on just two occasions, as many times as they showed Tranmere and Wolves.
This deal was a bit different, though, in that Sky had actually bought the rights to everything and were actually sub-licencing the second choice live games (and presumably the highlights). There was some document or other online by the FA which featured all the rights deals over the years and they all had "BBC and Sky" and "ITV and Setanta" and so on, but 1997-2001 had "Sky (sub-licenced to ITV)", so presumably Sky had much more control over what was offered than usual.
That didn't do much for the FA Cup, though, and since then, as you say, the FTA broadcaster has always had first choice (obviously it doesn't matter now it's all FTA) and also they've always had at least two matches, which is good for everyone because it means they can show both the big teams and some giant-killers. Whereas if they only had one match it would be Man U and Liverpool all the way.
S4C retain rights to show all of Wales Men's 6 Nations matches for the next 4 years reaching agreement with BBC/ITV.
S4C to also show 2 of Wales Women's matches in the 2022 Women's Six Nations and 3 in the 2022 Under 20's Six Nations.

Not sure why Sky would even bother. Its not like they don't have a FTA outlet themselves to put on.
The only concession they could make, if they don't let sublet live coverage to 4 is to narrow the gap between the live chequered flag, and the lights out on the C4 race highlights supercut, from a couple of hours, to a few minutes.
I suspect thought the C4 Highlights deal might prevent Sky from airing the races live free to air on Pick.
I don't think narrowing the gap would help - just annoy people who rely on the TV guide who tune in at around 5.30pm and find out they missed the replay.
This is a case though of making the race available FTA being in the interest of F1 rather than the population at large, and arguably good publicity for Sky ahead of the 2022 season for them.

It certainly is, as at the end of the Liverpool champions league game, jake humphrey walked from the studio where the football was being presented from, down a little corridor, and turned left into the studio where the cricket was being presented from.

BBC iPlayer highlights of the first day of The Ashes are up and are 32 minutes long. The first two minutes voiced out of vision by Jonathan Agnew summarising the toss and interviews, and both teams; the final minute or so with Agnew again summarising the day and advertising the Test Match Special and online coverage, so around 28 minutes of action. Like BT's coverage, it uses the Fox match graphics but uses the Test Match Special commentary. No analysis or punditry apart from the co-commentary but a decent effort that in turns of programme length is not that disimilar to the home highlights without any extra coverage. With it available at a decent time too, it should be a reasonable alternative for anyone not wanting to buy BT Sport.
