The blackout only applies to UEFA affiliated countries, so doesn't impact the African Nations. Sky seems to have operated it so far for its African Nations coverage - perhaps in respect to the Football League that they are the rights holder for - but there is no reason for them to do so.
As per the above link, England is the only country left with any blackout.

Everything on bbc.com/news. I just tried a few stories with videos now and they all played fine.

Blimey, was it really 15 years since Grandstand ended? The world has moved on such a lot since.
I was with Suzi Perry when she first presented Grandstand, I think we were at Brands Hatch, and just before we went live she said that she couldn't believe that she was about to present the programme she had watched all her life.
Many of us in BBC TV OBs spent a lot of our lives working on the show, and it's no surprise that the department didn't last much more than 3 years after the demise of this programme.
I know that Claire starts the last addition by saying “it doesn’t mean that the BBC is any less committed to sport; we’ll still be here every Saturday and Sunday with top class action, it’ll just be presented slightly differently”, but was the lack of long term sporting rights the real reason for the demise of the strand? As we’ve seen over the past 15 years, some weekends are packed with sport with some shown on BBC One and Two, whereas other weekends are filled with repeats of Homes Under the Hammer or films.
I still believe that there’s a place for less supported sports to be showcased, though I suppose it’s a case of choice again. Grandstand used to offer a great range of sports and you sat through them whether you enjoyed it or not (usually waiting for final score in my family household), whereas now you can choose to watch more or less anything you want whenever you want to.
I suspect that some of the smaller events (such as Moto Cross - my first OB) you can probably stream directly now, if they are not already on some of the dedicated sports channels.
Grandstand and World of Sport did have a real mixture of things, but I can't see anyone being happy with cutting between events, such as the 14:55 from Ascot to part of a Rugby League match, and then to Athletics now.
I think it may have been a number of things really, but the heyday for that kind of show was pre-Sky Sports, and the expectations it created in terms of coverage, but also the fact that it created new competition for sports rights. Soccer Saturday (a show which itself has been suffering a slow demise for a number of years now) meant that audiences were no longer satisfied with results coverage heading into half time and towards the final whistle but now wanted it all afternoon, the rise of betting apps, in-play bets, cash out etc probably creating that demand. Racing coverage becoming dominated by C4 (one perspective of Grandstand might be that the other sports filled the gaps between the races). Lots and lots of different things, I don’t think you can clearly point at one thing that was the deciding factor in its demise.
Weather is the culprit of this weekend's sporting postponments, with two of the six matches from the Scottish Premiership already postponned. BT Sport's rugby coverage from Newcastle has also been moved to an evening kick-off.
