Don't confuse opinion with fact. The facts haven't changed and I doubt many opinions have too.
These things either ultimately blowover or they stick. Geoffrey Boycott is a good example of someone who lost his career through controversy and in his case convictions but was ultimately able to rebuild his career.
Ultimately though regardless of controversy any commentator or pundit employed quickly off the back of their xareer is at risk of soon being replaced unless they really prove themselves indispensable in the role as the reason they were hired soon becomes the reason to replace them in order to hear the thoughts of more recently retired players.
Anyhow back to the here and now and Michael Vaughan has just posted he has had to delay flying out due to a positive covid test. I assume arrivals in Australia still have to isolate on arrival too, so that solves the issue for BT for the first test or two at least. Ultimately I think they just suck it up and bat off any criticism they may receive with it being a feed provided by the Aussie broadcasters.

Just to clarify, in any earlier posts on this topics by me where I mentioned an expectation that Michael Vaughan will not work for th BBC again were only an opinion on that statement based on my personal analysis of the actions and reports of the BBC and others at the time. The BBC have only ever said that Vaughan will not cover The Ashes for them. In fact today, the BBC have said that he remains on contract with them and they expect to work with him again. I'd take the BBC's position to not have someone who is the story in their coverage until the story is resolved a bit more, and as the statement below implies, he can't really talk on the biggest story in cricket at the moment as he is at the heart of the story.

And a sad day for British tennis with the retirement of British Number 1 Jo Konta announced today. I think she's already got two weeks in June and July booked in her diary with the BBC, she came across quite well in her a few appearances on Prime Video's coverage over the autumn and ticks many other boxes that many others can't in being a recently retired, high-ranking, high acheiving British player.

Apparently someone on Amazon tonight when discussing goalkeepers said Benjamin Mendy (Currently on remand charged with sexual offences) instead of Edouard Mendy when discussing the later. Bad as that has happened other times as well.

I wonder whether they did plan to use Dan Walker as usual for the early rounds of the FA Cup this year or whether it was always the plan he'd step away completely from the football coverage once giving up Football Focus. Surely nobody expected him to get this far in Strictly.
