O/T but was surprised this weeks test was at Headingly asI thought they'd been stripped of them in the wake of the scandal. Not surprised really about Michael Vaughan though sounds like he'll be paid out and just not used.
The First Round of bidding for UEFACL UEFAEL and UEFAECL rights in the UK (and France) for the 2024-2027 Cycle closed this morning (29 Jun 2022). All sorts of stories again circulating including a move to streaming only. We should know by the Weekend if the winner is known at the first round stage.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see a move elsewhere, the protracted WBD - BT discussions happening at 'the wrong time' for this award.
A move to streaming only on such a big rights package would put a lot of pressure to end the streaming lag.
Viaplay got to be a contender given their purchase of the UEFA European/World Cup qualfiiers and Nations League from 2024. They're going to need some year round football to go with it.

First Night of the Proms is normally live, other Proms (aside from Last Night) are often on a slight delay. (Sometimes shown on a different night as well.)

Just to note the midweek Māori All Blacks v Ireland game this morning was Sky NZ domestic coverage, crashed in and out of with no titles.

Whilst things could be improved with regard to the overall “lag” with streaming there are a number of technical difficulties getting the overall delay down to the level of traditional broadcast.

The LiveScore app has not proven to be a big success for those streaming UEFACL matches in The Republic of Ireland. A lot of outages have occurred to people when using that app to watch the matches on their phone. I would say that the majority of those people in Ireland are still thankful that BT Sport have provided non exclusive rights to these matches on the Sky platform in that country.
I would presume some of those same people are very happy with Virgin providing the rights for the UEFAEL/UEFAECL matches in their country even though BT Sport still provide same.

They’re essentially the same ones they’ve been using for Super Rugby this season. At one point they had different graphics for club and international rugby (not sure why) so they have done away with that. They’re mostly nice except for the use of italics in certain captions.

The French Auction has concluded with Canal+ winning the lot with an increase in price paid and the potential for sub-licencing onto other broadcasters, UK announcement can't be far off.
Are Canal+ offering streaming rights as well as linear to these matches in France?
