Not totally unheard of, we used to see overhead cameras zooming in on print-outs in the old days.

Thought I'd see what they were talking about. Tune in to see Dan Wootton showing himself to be incapable of reading a newspaper headline without adding his own opinion (in between the repeating Tonight Live sting).

My hope for this channel is dropping by the hour.

Unusual to use black on white background for prompt?

I’ve seen it done plenty before. Usually with some older presenters or hard of sight.

I have read some manuals from different providers of prompting solutions. I believe it is possible (forgot which software) that in a coded run down from the NRCS when you get to a new anchor or story in theory the settings in the prompter software could change to text size, color, read rate (helpful for timing shows). I know AutoScripts IP Teleprompter offerings offer a customizable screen formats from one camera to the next.

Yeah that can be done, so for example you'd put a certain code into the name section of INews if you wanted larger text for a section of script that was being read to a camera further away.

This isn’t a news channel it’s a ‘views channel’ which is fair enough but shouldn’t be classed as news. Maybe it would have been better just 6pm -midnight each day?

Love the way Dan was left grinning on the screen for a good 20 seconds at midnight.

Okay, some predictions about GB News.

Dan Wootton will not be a part of GB News for long. He's already looking like the first casualty who will go out the door in any upcoming changes.

Hourly news bulletins will become a thing for GB News to do during daytime. Either at about :55 out of the break, or at the top of the hour.

Michelle Dewbury will be cut back to an hour long show.

Tonight Live will get cut back to an hour as well, it's just too long and unwieldy at this point.

New presenters will have to be brought in for shows at 7pm, 9pm and 10pm. Primetime shows will probably only be an hour long.

I give this 6 months before the shareholders decide to clean up this mess.

At this point, I don't know. If he were to leave by his own choice, it would undoubtedly be a big blow to GB News, but at this point, I don't have a clear indication one way or the other.

I would think any changes, which are inevitable on a new channel, will likely result in fewer shows and presenters rather than more. On paper Dewbs & Co seems the weak link and could easily be displaced by running the daytime schedule an hour later and the evening schedule an hour earlier if needs be.

Dan Wootton will be the Piers Morgan of this channel - frankly he's doing the job he has been employed to do with the full knowledge of GB News execs, and although likely to get into the most trouble with OFCOM they will defend his right to "free speech" until it gets to the point where he crosses a line even for them and there is no going back from it.

I think the trouble with even adding short hourly bulletins is that still requires a newsgathering operation - and they don't appear to have one.

If any changes will be made, as Brekkie mentioned they'll extend the lunchtime and mid-afternoon shows to allow Michelle to start at 7pm. Today for example really needed Simon and Alex to stay on until 7 to cover the PM's announcement instead of leaving it to Dewberry to car crash over it.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I also think Mercy will move to a contributor role across the daytime shows and they'll also tweak breakfast with less people on-screen and the 9-12, 12-3 slots with more features and structure.
