I was just thinking that about the ticker. The ticker appears to be not updated regularly and is very poorly worded. Obviously they haven’t got a ‘ticker producer’ unlike sky.

They'd be better off not bothering with one if they're only going to put two stories on it and never update it.

I can't believe the start of Sky News and N24 could possibly have been as bad as this. I've dipped in and out since launch and you literally don't have to wait long before another cockup. It's like roulette - no sound, low sound, delayed break, early break, shaky camera, wrong camera, wrong clip, wrong caption - which one will we get next?! I think my favourite was them introducing Tony Parsons and cutting to a plant pot. Hope that one gets an airing on HIGNFY/Last Leg. Some of the handovers have been toe-curling too.

It would be a bit more forgivable if they were actually doing rolling news, producing packages that weren't ready etc. It was that type of error I was expecting, not literally everything else.

Just as I'm writing this they've got Dan and Becca who are metres apart in a 2-way box, Dan face on but Becca looking at where Dan actually is. This is basic stuff, right?

There's little I can add about the studio that hasn't already been said. Someone from Daybreak should have given them a heads-up and gone "noooooooo!". Wonder if they can pay some decorators overtime to give it a spruce-up overnight.

I feel for the staff on the ground, and the likes of Colin and Simon who are extremely professional even in the face of all this. I'd love to see some of the emails going back and forth between top brass on this nightmare. Woefully underprepared.

Now it's Dan interviewing I'm a Celeb's Lady Colin Campbell with a blanket and her dog on her lap. Doing it on Andrew's Mastermind set which now looks more like a elderly patient talking to her doctor about her ailments. Hilarious.

The dog doesn't want to be there either!

I don't think that will happen, either it will keep being funded, or move to online/radio if the TV station fails at a next stage.

I do wonder if a move to radio has always been the intention. It's such a crowded market launching there would get little attention, but launching on TV first then moving to radio, or at least having it as a back up plan, firstly gives them huge launch publicity and secondly gives them a safety net.

I think though it is safe to say though that although so far the channel seems unsuitable for TV it clearly isn't suited to radio either.

They clearly need to address issues sooner rather than later but I can't see them willing to sacrifice their first weekend on air. They could possibly just about get away with 24 hours from 9pm Sat - 9pm Sunday as most their key weekend shows are on Saturday, but in reality that's probably just 12 hours on the Sunday. There are hour long breaks in live coverage on Friday night at 8pm and Saturday afternoon at 3pm and 6pm, plus a 4-hour slot of "best of" content on Sundays in the schedule from 3pm, so I think they'll just use them at most initially.

They could perhaps have started without a continuous 18 hour live schedule - the type of content they're showing I think they could get away with either airing 2 hours live then repeating that block again, or making the third hour of a show a repeat of one of the earlier hours, whilst they find their feet. Of course that would have been met by criticism too, but maybe would have lessened the technical issues.

It is certainly clear they needed a soft launch - even launching as they did on Sunday then just expanding by adding one show each day across their first week would probably have made things easier for them.

The camera stayed on Dan, nodding away for a long time before cutting back to the "Lady".

I am going to bed, and when I wake up I am hoping GB News has all been a dream (or perhaps that should be nightmare)!
