They need to decide what they want to be - they are usually Loose Women/Sky Papers, and tonight they are suddenly trying to be Sky News/CNN.

I ended up changing over to Sky News at 6.30 where they were as professional as ever covering the story despite only having Nick Qureshi on pres duty, where they had access to stock footage, Hancock's resignation video posted on social media and correspondents on standby. Viewers will go to the news channels for the latest news, the NC and Sky News were on it, GB News wasn't this time.

I'm sorry but Neil Oliver isn't the right presenter for this breaking news, an actual experienced journalist would be better for these breaking news stories than the weekend filler.

From the bit I’ve seen he’s handled it perfectly fine. Think it’s a bit unfair to say he’s just ‘weekend filler’, didn’t he have the highest audience last weekend?

Not quite sure why they are bringing us the breaking news of Wales crashing out of the Euro’s a good two hours after it occurred? Was it to show off they had a reporter outside a pub in Cardiff which added nothing.

Interesting figures from Media Mole/Overnights TV. Second week Mon-Fri ratings, GB News just beating Sky News in 6pm-midnight hours (54,600 v 52,100) and Sky News having the edge from 6am-midnight.

54,600 doesn't on the face of it sound a lot, but all it means is the equivalent of 54,600 people watched the channel, for the full six hours, without changing channel or leaving the room!

It could have been 109,200 watching for three hours, 327,600 watching for one hour, 655,200 watching for half an hour and so on.

This is part of the problem. They need to decide what they are and stick to it!

Did the reporter start with the usual: "I was talking to a man in this pub, who told me that Wales lost"...? :roll:

Didn’t expect them to break into the replay earlier for breaking news. It was the right decision as the replays are just filler, and they obviously had people around that they were able to get on air. Wonder what the criteria will be in the future.

There seems to be issues with the live bug showing on replayed shows, where they’ve resorted to a blank red one to cover it up as shown in an earlier image. Probably not worth them showing live all through the shows if it’s going to cause that problem, simply show the replay where required instead.

I thought Tom performed well on the bits I saw at breakfast, seemed very comfortable in the presenter roll.

That article seems to be missing the 6am-6pm hours... who wins there? Not that there is a winner, per se, as they are different channels for different purposes as tonight has underlined.
