Wonder what that's about. Looking at their Companies House entries GB News Ltd is wholey owned by All Perspectives what difference it makes I don't know. Some technicality about foreign ownership?

Maybe they're setting up a different limited company for GB News Radio, or something else.

Actually I think that's definitely one in the eye for anyone who said it was anti-woke. Not all right wingers are racists and to get back O/T, I'm glad GB News are doing some stuff to help smash the stereotype.

I mean it's not great but the novelty has now worn off. It's noticeable that this thread is much quieter now, and certainly the online hate has subsided.

I know next to nothing about your industry so I'd appreciate your help trying to understand it.

Is 1.35m reach enough in terms of selling (after agency fees) £25m worth of advertising a year? Or does that depend on the wealth of the demographics who consume it the most?

I am fascinated by your sector (being in marketing myself) and it'd be great if you could share your knowledge with us.

While a stunt by Harri, it's one way of ensuring balance during the day in the same way LBC does when they have a more liberal discussion, which allows them to do their more OTT material with Wootton later today.

Andrew Neil himself labelled it anti-woke. It was literally in the dog whistling press releases they were putting out pre launch. The channel has spent much of it's first month of existence stoking the fire over the "woke virtue signalling" England team taking the knee so any attempt now at faux outrage is as transparent and hypocritical as everyone else's who has been publicly called out this past 24hrs.

If it were a standalone sales operation then definitely no chance. Using Sky Media makes it a bit more feasible but personally I think it's a big task to achieve it. There's things that can be tried and changed but the figures for the latest period aren't much better than some of the "channel in a box" broadcasters which need a fraction of what GBN needs to break even.

We don't know how deep the pockets of the investors are so these numbers and the associated income from advertising may be perfectly fine.

A very niche grumble I know, but why does Liam Halligan insist on constantly calling his show 'Gloria and Liam' when it's called 'DePiero and Halligan'. You'd think someone would have pointed it out to him by now?

Don't forget one of their headline segments is "woke watch".

The channel has not tried to hide the fact it doesn't like woke. That is one of the reasons it exists.

The whole take the knee GB News stuff was over the choice of individual players to take the knee, and if it was right for such things to be mixed with sport which is generally a very bringing together type thing anyway. It was not about being against stopping racism, which some people have been trying to suggest.

Many on here forgetting that it wasn't a month of one way traffic with discussion about taking the knee. There has been counter-arguments and discussions on various shows on GB News. Obviously, people forget to mention that for reasons we all know.
