The sound (mic) quality of Alastair Stewart is the best I have heard all week. He's currently talking to Penny Mordaunt and her mic sounds poor/quiet.
Alastair looks the most at ease and comfortable with everything, judging by his presentation style. The only thing letting him down is the content. It's weak.

I don’t think that’s anything new with Alastair though - even at LNN and then ITN he was a bit bombastic - at times it was like he shouted the news rather than reading it.
I've always thought this and never understood why people rate him so much. Sure he's a compitent newscaster, but so are many others.
The fact that he's so far easily the most comfortable and best presenter on the channel should go some way to helping you understand why.
Being part of the ITN old guard during the period that they dominated the BBC's news output doesn't hurt.
As has been mentioned though, it's a shame it's on a channel that's so poor content wise. Alastair's mic seems to have quite a bit of echo on it too.

Off the back of another failed DTL interview
You'd think someone of Alastair's vintage would know he can't ask a serving Government Minister (Penny Mordaunt) to promote a book she co-authored as a private citizen. To be fair, she shut that line of questioning down at the earliest opportunity. It's just the basic research and support to the presenters that's missing.

He also got the time wrong on more than one occasion. GB News seem to operate an hour ahead!
I am enjoying watching Alastair Stewart. If I only watch GB News twice a week it will be worth it to see the Grand Master back.

For all the criticism Tom Bradby got for injecting a more personable approach in the News at Ten script he was only doing what Alastair had done for years. It's just he delivered it in such a way it didn't become a barrier.
The content was rather average but great to have Alistair back. He lifts even the most dull items (eg the regional reporter chats which are still not really
Improving). With his show plus the earlier table discussion (10-12) GBN already feels like it’s putting more effort into its weekends than Sky has for years, with its plodding summaries read by largely anonymous faces.
The last interview, with the refugee turned success, was a nice touch, sending a clear message to those calling GBN a place of hate and all the evils of the world. 8-)
In my opinion I feel the the launch was a bit rushed as i know there are a lot of problems but it's a nice change to BBC and SKY

A channel having one agenda with their main presenters 5 days a week then having one or two more liberal features with their less problematic weekend presenters which they'll use to claim they're not biased. One interview on the Alastair Stewart show doesn't cancel 5 nights of unashamed bias and misinformation from Daniel Wootton.
Alastair was always good with mixing light and serious topics. I remember he did an interview with a Mum and her kids on the ITV Lunchtime news and the kids were on the desk at the point but he kept going and actually looked he was enjoying the craziness.

GBN can't be compared to Sky News or BBC News UK. If you want a decent change from these, try CNN International, Al Jazeera or BBC World News.
GBN isn't a rolling news channel. It's mainly just 'personalities' giving opinions and gossiping (including the Loose Women-style set up with the 4 ladies chit-chatting at the desk that they had at 10am this morning).

I've noticed tomorrow's show which was due to be called 'Sunday Live' is now called 'The Political Correction''. The description says the show is ''Anything but a traditional politics show as our special panel gets to grips with the biggest stories''. Hmmm...
