The fact he applied in the first place. Anybody applying a job should be able to expect their application to be considered with the upmost confidentiality. For example he may be in another role which he'd have had to leave if he had been offered a job and decided to take it up - and they may not take too kindly to the news he is looking for work elsewhere.
An application may not mean a desire to work for them or sharing their values - they may have been looking to go undercover there to expose their true ethos and practices, or just sussing out their application process. Or simply looking for interview experience.

Also now they're calling New York celebrating its vaccination rate getting to 70% "unprofessional". If they were referring to the lack of social distancing (they just mentioned that before this comment), social distancing is no longer mandatory per the Governor of New York.

Are they criticising a lack of social distancing? If so, a bit strange given they're not practising it themselves.

It's very hit and miss, a video the other day had a wheel of death and pause in it, but not the YouTube one. And this was uploaded without being checked. Some videos are being screen recorded.
Probably a default export profile regardless? (as I mentioned earlier, the web stream is two channel audio but entirely mono, including the ads).
Not sure so far that they've actually directly edited anything themselves, either on air or online. Just grabbed single clips.
Though in fairness, some mix in the channel logo at the end.
I'm a little surprised they're leaving comments open on YouTube videos.
It's another reason I can't see them doing any significant interviews on location - if they'd have recorded the Sunak interview at the treasury they'd have needed at least two cameras (with timecode) and then sufficient time to cut it together afterwards. (And uniquely, they don't appear to have anything you could class as an edit suite.) Doesn't matter for London-based guests, but…

I wonder when they'll get the video wall working? The local news segment would benefit from a presenter doing those crosses there instead of what they're doing at the moment. It'll also help illustrate their stories a lot better than they're doing now.

The personal data is the combination of the person's name in conjunction with the information that he has applied for a job.
That combination identifies the person (criteria 1) and relates to the person (criteria 2).
The sole reason GBN have the information that he applied for a job is because he submitted his CV.
The sole lawful purpose for processing of data supplied during a job application process is the processing of the application (unless you ask for an active opt-in to other purposes).
That personal data has been made public which is contrary to data protection legislation.
If the Twitter response would have simply been the first line then there would not be a problem.
Look at it this way: if you tweet your bank with a complaint and the response would be that they're struggling with tech problems and they also mention that your mortgage application was rejected, how would you feel?
How much of this is automated?
It seems they're very strict on their ad break slots and TOTH restarts - much more so than BBC Breakfast or GMB - they've not missed one as far as I am aware.
It's fine, but it means they keep cutting off guests/crashing at very short notice.
For a channel that seems to be running with just a handful of stories a day, surely these guest interviews should be a priority, even if that means they run a minute or two into the next hour?
Big companies take their GDPR obligations re job applicants very seriously.
Because of COVID, the time span from applying to starting in my current job was nearly 11 months, and by the time they came to add me to the HR system, they had to ask me for all my basic details all over again as my original application had been auto-deleted for GDPR reasons.

I spoke to a lawyer friend at lunchtime who was of the same opinion - unless they have a specific data protection policy for job candidates, and even then it's still tenuous, they're pretty much bang to rights on point 4.6 of their own privacy policy (
