I don't know what he thinks sparring with advertisers on Twitter is going to achieve. It's a dog whistle to his supporters for sure but isn't that just going to make companies who might still have been interested now not want to come anywhere near the channel?. For a couple of hundred thousand viewers tops it's likely not worth the hassle.
Based on the behaviour of some of the channel's talent online last night one can assume there is a bar near the studio. Just a hunch.

I mean, people are talking, we can actually hear them, no strange noises, different sound levels, wrong camera angles, graphics etc. But for how long can it last?

I tuned in between 8:45 and 8:55 last night and thought the same. Sound was fine, pictures didn't exactly sparkle but were watchable, and content was fine, it just seemed like I'd tuned into the old BBC version of Neil's show
LBC’s main video producer is joining GB News next week

I'm not sure a company can pick and choose who advertises on their channel. As I understand it that's restraint of trade

Not would you want to, not only does it restrict your income but if you start vetting advertisers you're going to potentially be entering into whole host of legal issues

Yes, didn't it get all rather 'tricky' back in 1989 when some ITV companies refused to take ads from Sky and BSB ?
I mustn't be the only one who can feel the tension between McCoy and Phillips?

and especially at 8:13 "I think this should be on a single shot and I just get on with it"

That would seem sensible enough, but then you consider that 'ethical retailers' such as Co-Op pick and choose what products they will sell.

I don't believe anyone can force Co-Op to sell their wares, so I'm not sure a company can insist on being able to advertise on GB News or any other channel.
This morning's 8am TOTH:
- do you like working from home? (you had to wait until 8:23 for that)
- last night's Neil / Sunak interview (which they did first in the running order)
- UK hospitality industry and lockdown effects
- live cross to Rosie in Windsor (which was quite smooth, but then she and her camera operator know what they're doing)

They've got a sequence - maybe it's new? - titled 'GB News Today', which seems to be the closest thing to a headline summary - but at random times like 7:45am and ten-past eight. It's a bit undermined (and less audible) due to the jaunty music underneath (if you remember old Casio keyboards from your youth, it's a bit like one of the rhythm styles?) and an enthusiasm to comment on the stories as they're being read out.

- MP's voting on "freedom day"
- Ryanair
- cut to foreign aid budget

I mean, there is quite a lot of other stuff going on…

I think earlier someone may have suggested viewers email if they had a story about their dog, but I wasn't properly paying attention…
Their social media contributor has chosen with an extremely bright top. It isn't helping.

Isn't that why you offload your ad sales to third parties to avoid the admin? Can't imagine Sky will be happy having to send a full detailed list of all advertisers and presumably adverts for approval.

They don’t Smile

They simply pull the ads of advertisers who don’t want to be on GBN and replace them with others (as long as there still are enough advertisers).

For those brands boycotting GBN, Sky Media will find “make good” slots across the other channels in the portfolio to ensure they fulfil their contractual obligations.
Watching a bit of their breakfast programme this morning the lighting seems to have improved. Also for the 5 minutes or so that I watched there didn't appear to be any sound issues, and the reporter on location had a handheld mic which she used for her guest and herself. The studio camera picture quality is still rather poor, and it's particularly noticeable when they showed a stock(?) Ryanair clip which was significantly sharper in image quality (watching on Freeview).
Bizarre comments just now.

Social media presenter: " Enid Blyton having a bit of a tough time online this morning guys"

Presenter two : " Oh no, such a shame for her, I love Enid Blyton"

One has to wonder, Do they know she's dead?
I do have to say… I think we’ve all been quite harsh. I really do think this channel does have potential. It’s brand new. This is a massive operation and we’re all human. Mistakes are inevitable and they can only learn from them and I think we all need to be a bit kinder and fairer. I take my hat off to everyone there. They’re taking risks joining the channel and you can’t blame them for it. Life is too short. I really really like Nana I think she’s brilliant. Some of the partnerships I’m not too sure about I.e Brazier & Muroki/ McCoy & Phillips. I don’t think that what we’re seeing now will be the same as in 6 months time. I can see a lot of changes happening. Kirsty Gallagher on breakfast just does not work for me at all. Would love to see Rosie in studio but at the same time I don’t think it needs too many presenters in there at once. Nana & Darren are a good duo.
