I don’t have any problem with principle of the having an audience and them trying to do something different on an occasional show at the weekend. It doesn’t do Question Time’s reputation any harm.
Now whether it worked tonight is a different question. It seemed ok from the few minutes I saw, apart from some sound issues caused by an extra mic for the audience.
That's at least 80% of their audience not watching at home.
The only way they're going to find out which formats work and which ones don't is through experimenting and trying new things. I think it's good to see them playing around with ideas, such as tonight's reworked Free Speech Nation and the recent 'Briefing' additions.

Having watched GB News for several months now only two programmes have caught my attention and made me rewatch.
Alastair Stewart and Free Speech Nation
Alastair's show has thrown up some really really interesting topics and discussions over the past few weeks, isn't aggressive and you can tell that he himself is genuinely interested to learn about what is bieng discussed. The input and discussion from the regional reporters is his slot feel really genuine and informative too.

the irony is that GB News is right up her street if you’re bored enough to read her tweets. She’s been on at least once I think
GB News have splashed out somewhat by sending Darren McCaffrey out to New York. It seems like they’re making good use of their recent £600,000 per year saving.

And that's something Fox News understands, which GB News hasn't grasped as it still seems to be an amateur management who want to stick it to the MSM without any clear marketing to a potential audience who don't know it's there.
