After what he's said I'd be very surprised.
He gave them the thing they were looking for, publicity. It does highlight the hypocrisy of the channel. When you set out your stall for months about welcoming all views, opinions and being different, even going as far as sitting MPs co-anchoring shows, you then go and 'fire' a presenter for doing that?
There's a difference between expressing an opinion and pulling a stunt, which is what he did.
There's nothing wrong with showcasing an opinion, which is what he did. I give GB News credit for letting him doing it and then throwing him out all for publicity.

I think this is really important. Lots of nasty things said about people, particularly the regional reporters, who have clearly joined the channel for what they thought were the right reasons. There was plenty of warmth and good will towards them from previous colleagues when their appointments were announced. I really feel for them given the channel looks to be going in a different direction to what they were presumably sold.

It isn't professional, had it occurred on BBC or Sky I would like to think the presenter would at least get a slap on the wrist.
Hate to bang the same drum, but can someone summarise what's went on recently?
Last time I looked, it was just a crap channel with ranting and tech staff who couldn't fade up microphones, what's happened since then?

Guto Harri took knee live on air, then suspended indefinitely and doesn't seem to be returning. Viewing figures continuing to decline. Farage gets a show Mon - Thurs 19:00-20:00.

More precisely two very senior staff - the Senior Executive Producer (ex-BBC, CNN, Sky, NBC) and Director of News & Programmes (ex-BBC, Sky, ITN, NBC) are both said to have left in recent weeks.

One if their presenters expressed "free speech" and a "different opinion" by taking the knee and got sacked by a channel which supposedly stands for free speech and differing opinions.

The channel is a total irrelevance at present for anyone outside of the media, this forum, or Digital Spy.
Wake me up when you hear anybody in your local pub or coffee shop talking about it ?
If you look at the DS radio forum where you see long threads for nonsensical online stations that have an audience of tens, that is what GBN is currently.

Yes, as those two companies are completely different to GB News. What GB News has shown in recent weeks is that you can rally to be different to mainstream media but you end up just like them.
Post removed - felt that I was slightly lowering the tone.
Presentation wise, I would like to see their local reporters searching out and doing investigate stories that we might not see elsewhere.
They need to be put to more use or it is pointless having them.
