Well, here's a reality check: Neither the weekday nor weekend version of the new Breakfast occupies ANY positions. Sounds (un)believable depending upon how you viewed GBN, but they're nowhere on the top 15.
So who occupies these positions? For a start: every episode of Farage and Dan Wootton Tonight.
Then there're 3 apperances from Dewbs & Co, 2 from Tom Harwood, and 1 each from Mark Steyn and Headliners.
#1 entry only gets 74,200, while #15 entry gets 33,100.
To put insult to injury regarding breakfast, Sky's show (weekday or weekend) makes 3 appearances in top 15 (2 Monday (although just two half-hours of the 9am hour) and 1 Sunday (8:30am half-hour)).
I guess we can now doubt Eamonn's "record figures" claim as much as we suspect we would/could/should be...
I'm not sure that direct comparisons to Sky with regards to breakfast hold much validity, given the differences in the way that the channels schedule the programming with regards to ratings. The numbers watching TV on any channel substantially increase during the period in which a breakfast programme is on air and the ratings at 6am will always be a fraction of those at 9am. As GBNews doesn't split the breakfast show for ratings purposes it will always be more challenging for it's breakfast show to make the top 15 in comparrison to Sky where the figures in the earlier part of the morning will not reduce the overall figure for the later periods as the ratings are broken down into 30 minute chunks.
Given that The Briefing AM occupied 2 of the top 15 slots despite hardly being appointment to view television or particularly advertised (suggesting that the bulk of its audience is likely to be those who were already tuned to the channel) it would not be unreasonable to suggest that the viewing figures for the 09:00 half hour of breakfast would have made the top 15 if they had been broken down in the same way as sky.
Darren Grimes’ show is starting on the 29th, replacing Best of The Briefing. No Calvin Robinson just yet.
I see that they've finally got the weather working on the ticker, for what I think is the first time since that late night ticker test pre-launch.

I really do dislike this sort of jingoistic nonsense. In all seriousness, GB News was supposed to not follow the path of others (or similar marketing guff prior to their launch). So: they recreate TV-Am and bring back the closedown (just brought forward to mornings). Radically different...

I do find this thread slightly odd - it's one of the very few places online where this is treated as a serious news channel when that stopped being the case after Week 1 elsewhere. And I can't remember any other news broadcaster having a debate as to whether we'd be going to war with France the way GB News did.
For someone who seems to profess not to care, you do actually seem to care enough to watch and comment on it.

I fully endorse these comments and don’t think it’s an over reaction or exaggeration. I’m slightly fascinated at some of the commentary on this thread. We’re all TV fans so perhaps that’s why we want this new channel to succeed, but there is a lot of ‘isn’t it getting much better?’ intertwined with ‘oh they’ve signed [enter falling star name here]. That should really help them’ I’m quite amazed that some forum members A - have the time to watch so much of the channel and B - aren’t slipping into a boredom induced coma watching it!
The reality is this - the channel is a mixture of messy technical errors, reactionary populism delivered in a really slapdash fashion and endless filler. One great example - I tuned in at the weekend and the show badly cut to a lengthy weather bulletin. There was then a news update followed by an even longer weather bulletin.
I honestly have no idea how anyone can find any of this ‘good’! The channel is a total mess. It’s actually a bit of an insult to Fox News that we ever made any comparisons! At least Fox can get through an hour of broadcasting without coming across like That’s TV!
Anyway, that’s my view.

I'm not sure if it's partly because it's been filmed from a TV set but it's an odd version of God Save The Queen, not like the very dramatic version the BBC use. The visuals are nice, but not edited to the music with any style or pacing. Still it'll keep the few that care happy

Good lord, this channel's just increasingly becoming more and more a parody of itself. They're basically becoming the stereotype of what the left think the right are like. You can't even mock or satirise them because they just end up doing it for real anyway.
I actually think the national anthem move is a good one. Plays well with their audience and gives them some much needed publicity, even if just with the media/Twitter bubble.
I totally echo the comments made previously though about the breakfast show. Just a) shows how their attempts to be 'different' bombed and b) the whole thing about being different to the MSM is a total con. Including peoples' views in the show is not unique, it's just cheap. Entirely reasonable that this aspect of its presentation is discussed on this forum imo if the admin agrees.
