That kind of personality-led "Tucker Carlson" style show can work, but it needs the right person doing it. Farage is clearly a competent presenter, and assuming he can come up with enough material to fill four hours a week, could do very well.
His show felt formatted as in it had a structure where it can feel with the other shows that it's just one continuous discussion or debate.

Arguably if the repeated content does rate worse than live content it's the BBC and Sky being done a disservice when those hours aren't included. FWIW though I suspect the overnight content being pre-recorded has little impact on ratings - indeed they might even do better than just a generic overnight bulletin.

BARB cut off used to be 2am if I recall. It seems some journalists using 1am is deliberate to make sure GBN figures are even lower. Either way the figures do seem poor, but its still a baby, lets see how the numbers are in a year or two.
I’m not sure a rerun of their flagship show will do as badly as you think in comparison to whatever the alternative would be.

Optimistic.
I think September to November will probably be the crunch point - they would presumably have always expected ratings to fall somewhat after their launch, and especially in July and August. The schedule changes suggest perhaps they've fallen more than they're comfortable with, but the line up was always going to evolve over it's first year or so.
Anyone else see the slip up today by Liam when he announced a woman as being from an organisation called Ginger Mums? Her face was a picture. Credit to him for apologising and not losing his temper on air. Makes you wonder if someone in his ear fed him that.
Has there been any announcement of subtitles coking to this Chanel ? ?
If they did, don't expect them to be spelled properly.

The part of the new
Farage show I think is really good is the having a pint with Nigel section. Surprised Nigel does not light up a big fat Cuban cigar to go with his pint!!

I've said it before, and I think that the current state of GB News really brings my point home: There is a want for new sources of information and news, especially from people that I've been talking to. I had hoped that GB News would, by now, have started to lose its milk teeth, and come into its own. Clearly, they are not, at least from an empirical look at it (don't completely buy into newspapers, kids. They all have their own agendas too). I think the problem is twofold. In a country where they took FOX News off of sky, because no one was watching, shows that while there is that demand I mentioned, the means of getting are flawed. No one wants a FOX News style channel. No one watched FOX News over here.
As for the ideologies. From the videos I've seen on YouTube (I do sub to their youtube channel), it just comes across to me as a bunch of people bemoaning 'wokeness' and 'sjws' and the likes. Again, I am not deriding people who believe that, as they do make valid points on a lot of stuff in mainstream politics, but its in how its presented. It comes across more as moral panic, than an active discussion of why these things are prevalent, and offering logical counter-arguments to these things, using the empirical facts that allow us, as humans, to judge the world we live in.
GB News doesn't need to be 'Gammon channel' in the public consciousness. It needs to be a News Channel, first and foremost. It can have an editorial stance, because sometimes we need challenging points of view and counter arguments and devil's advocacy. But it needs to grow its adult teeth

I'm sorry, but of all the ridiculous things I've seen and heard about this channel so far, this takes the biscuit. What sort of person, having just being pressured into resigning from their workplace, would accept an offer to return for a few minutes to have a debate about something they were pushed out over?
I was trying to think of some kind of comparison to put here, but it's so ridiculous, I can't think of one.

Baiting by the looks of it, and then putting the blame on Guto Harri for not wanting to come onto a channel he was effectively sacked from and I suspect as a result of that tweet he'll probably get some abuse in his direction.
It must be said that the only one, so far, who came to GBN and is absolutely thriving is Colin Brazier. He is delivering biting monologues and his takedown of Prince William's younger brother tonight was epic. Surely he'll get his own evening slot, if and when Andrew Neil returns. It would be such a waste to have him back on the late morning slot that nobody watches, alongside amateur rookies.
