Talking of reporting with the sidelining many of the regional reporters do they air much report wise now or is it basically B-roll in the news updates then just "discussion" for the rest of the hour?

I've seen them still being used on the breakfast programme.
That seems underutilized considering the scope of a news(-based) channel. At this point they probably will be better off presenting :00/:30 updates, within three shifts daily.
It just makes more sense than the current 9a-4p/4p-midnight split that's being used on that front.

I'm not sure he wants to return to The BBC. He left already and that is a significant choice to make, something new was needed. And if GB News doesn't work out, plenty of other places he could go, but I doubt he would want to go back to The BBC.

Exactly. Plus BBC News will go down the road of younger presenters who will cost a lot less that what he was earning when he departed the Beeb.

Why wouldn’t I be able to take him seriously? Because he’s appeared on GB News and clearly ripped up any journalistic credentials he had in the process.
I think now the initial frustration with technical issues has subsided the fact Simon McCoy has rarely featured in any clips from the channel works in his favour - it's almost forgotten he is there and at breakfast he is well away from the toxicity of Farage, Wootton, Dolan and Co.

You are entitled to your opinion, I am not sure broadcasting industries would agree unless he actually does something to warrant such a judgement, which as far as I know, he has not. Many people working in the large broadcasters started elsewhere in not so glamorous or moral roles.

I agree with your point, and my perception has somewhat recovered from the dip it suffered during the channel's first weeks. However, it does present some issues in terms of a possible decline in name recognition. If he wanted to jump ship to somewhere that name recognition isn't an issue (such as LBC News), then I could see that happening. But places where name recognition isn't an issue seem to be few and far between.
I'm not saying that nobody will know who Simon is, but if someone jump from having millions for viewers to thousands of viewers (and stay there for an extended period), there will be a bit of a decline in recognition and that will take time to recover.

No it doesn't because it's not a reliable source, we need confirmation from ITV and GB News for the rumours about Eamonn joining GB News to be true, at the moment Eamonn is still part of the This Morning team.
Interesting that Neesom says she's looking g forward to working with him again. The only time I've seen her on GB News is as a panellist on Wootton's show. Maybe they'll be co-hosting again as they did on TalkRadio?

Simon was interviewed on a podcast a couple of months ago and in it, he hinted that he wouldn't be at GB News for too much longer. He said that his wife (Emma Samms) is doing some work in LA next year and that he'll probably be joining her:

almost be forgiven for thinking you were watching Sky News circa 2000. I know Nick Pollard (ex-Sky News head) was head of editorial for a bit after John McAndrew left, though I think he too has gone now. I do think that if you got rid of said polemicists and politicians, and beefed up the reporting side of things, you'd have a half-decent news channel. (God knows we could do with something a bit more lively than what Sky News has become - and as for the BBC News channel, what a shadow of its former self
