The Local News did get a new look more recently than BBC News in general - so it probably makes little sense in totally scrapping that look.

I’m expecting things to get a lot more square/rectangular than the circular sets and desks we’re used to.
Which is a shame as I absolutely love the way the robot cameras on concentric circular tracks move around in Studios C and E. But I can’t see how they could keep this with square sets and desks.
What's the situation with the nations and regions when it comes to robotic cameras - I assume most are still manned?
BBC Newsline has a great set, especially the Belfast backdrop, but a wee upgrade would be nice

The old newsroom backdrop is back in studio C this evening. Seems odd as it was the normal one at the 23:30 headlines however after the papers titles it changed to the old version.

And probably killing three birds with one stone. I guess they'll be rolled out on a region by region basis rather than all ready for whenever the national bulletins relaunch.
I can't see most regions being quite up to the standard of the Wales Today set given what they've had for the last decade or so but I can visualise how a slimmed down version of it might work.

I hope they don't change the Spotlight set in Plymouth. Last time they said it would take 6 weeks, but ended up using a sofa and plasma screen in the conference room for 18 months.
