I agree that Burak isn’t great, from what I’ve seen. She’s been around for years with the BBC, but not always news reading; I remember when she was the weather presenter on East Midlands Today about 15-20 years ago.
I’m not really a BBC News fan, but I guess the management must be happy with these staff members’ performances.
Her on air reminds me of the fear when Rianna Scipio would do the weather when I worked at LNN.

It’s purely POV. I wouldn’t dream of getting personal.
I don’t think either are worthy of any BBC channel. There are half a dozen if not more that are not being utilised whereas the afore mentioned are.

Unless you can state examples of their presenting which is appalling, I think this post is a bit over the top. I think they are fine, apart from the shorts the other month which I found unprofessional but that discussion has already been done to death.

Yes but is there anything specific you find appalling about them? From what I can see they’re not used any more frequently than other NC presenters; Brown, Croxall, McVeigh, Gosling, Hill etc. Plus it’s holiday season so a lot of presenters are away at the moment and they’re using others such as Ben Mundy a lot more, who personally I find to be far worse!

With every other presenter at BBC News I
personally feel there are better and more experienced people I would rather see fill those hours. Whether Shaun Ley wore shorts or not is of no concern to me, it was probably a highlight of his presenting career. There is a vast pool of World/NC presenters we rarely get to see anymore, Giannone, Scholfield, Worricker, Madeira are just some. Rich Preston would be great fit on the NC rather than overnights. Anyway, this could very well lead to a 'rota thread' so best left here.

Both have definitely popped up at least once in the last year, and both are freelance. Quite possible they've other commitments.
Just to add, you may have personal favourites for presenting and those you like less, but some of the comments here have been rather personal and presented without foundation or evidence. To describe someone as appalling at their job crosses the line as far as I’m concerned. It’s also no-one’s business but Rory’s as to what kind of payoff he might be getting, redundancy or otherwise.
Finally, could we please stop referring to presenters solely by their surname? This isn’t football or public school.

I heard a rumour Worricker has been off for health reason's currently presenting from home Weekend on World Service, as well as covering Newshour, The World Tonight
He's been presenting Newshour from home?

I don't know if anybody has noticed this but from today the new BBC News logo has appeared on the lower left corner of the thumbnails of their tweets, even though BBC News got a new logo in 2019 the thumbnails on twitter still had the previous one
