I think sharing implies the broadcasters have much of a choice. This government has opted to do pool interviews whenever possible, as the pool interviewer tends towards more generic questions.

Far as I can see, each journo gets an interview with PM but all with same mics and camera

Given the identical framing, I'd assume that it was still the pool equipment being used for each broadcaster in turn. I suppose the combination of G7 not being negative/Covid being necessary means that they don't need to/can't simply avoid the broadcasters.

Strange how the mics are pointed to their stomachs though !

After Gary Gibbon's interview for Channel 4, Johnson remarked "how many more of these do I have to do", suggesting that he did several in quick succession, which would explain the setup.

Not sure if ive missed something but why was there a bulletin on BBC One at 7pm today? The teatime news was at 16:25 and the late news was moved from 22:10 to 22:00

It was because of the Incident with Christian Eriksen during Denmark V Finland this afternoon and 10 minutes needed filling in the schedule-in the end however the rest of the game was then played causing the BBC1 schedule to end up 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

Special report because of the incident at the Euros today. It was Reeta in E for 10 minutes. Covered the main story and some of the days other news.

This happens regularly. There’ll be an agreement among the broadcasters about who provides the camera, the reporters take it in turns and the rushes will be shared. It’s neither unique to this government nor even to this Party.

It is just a really efficient use of time for the person being interviewed and presumably therefore avoids reducing the length of the interview.

Do they use a similar approach for film publicity back when they'd use a hotel suite?

I remember purely because the BOTH sting appeared to have been recorded pre-NBH move, as the News Channel, then running from N6, was on one of the screens above E.

That is the newer one, featuring George Alagiah. I remember there is someone shrugging his hands in the intro of the Five…

In the outro, those screens above Studio E are showing the Reith BBC News logo.

It seems that yesterday's extra bulletin is available for a month on iPlayer, and was seemingly first shown on 9 September 2099!

Some very long pauses between bongs and then before the globe with the 9pm news channel tonight - I think they were doffing a hat to GBN's launch!

I think they cut to the studio a few seconds early at the start- James Reynolds seemed to be caught off guard slightly.

I do find it a bit strange that they don’t have any pre-recorded shots of the newsroom with the blue lights on. It looks rather odd when the trundle cam shows the newsroom in normal mode then it cuts to the studio and it’s blue.
