Ranvir, meanwhile, was always a great fit for ITV News, but there was never really an opening for her to take.
I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte leaves soon, her role has slowly been diminished over the years.
I think the more recent changes though have been due to her wanting to do more elsewhere, noteably at Classic FM.

Do we know that’s the case though? It was reported Ranvir was ‘on the rise’ at ITV so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was as a result of that. As mentioned above, however, I don’t really see what the benefit for Ranvir is newsreading an extra day a week, especially when they’ve minimised the role so much.
I too wouldn’t be surprised to see Charlotte move on in the near future, although we all suspected on TVF Ben would end up leaving fairly soon and it never materialised! Aside from Piers leaving, is this the longest serving ‘team’ of presenters ITV Breakfast has had?
The black tub chairs this morning didn’t look great, honestly in terms of furniture what they launched with in 2014 actually looked far nicer!
(Although the 2014 studio being superior to every change they made after is the presentation based hill I am willing to die on!)
I love Richard Arnold at the moment. he’s been great craic with his entertainment news. it’s just what we need
with ITV News airing a show on weekend mornings for the past few weeks. Wouldn't it be more logical if GMB went 7 days a week until the summer at the very least because the Ukraine war will be in the News for another couple of months

I personally think the newsreader role is important because it helps give the viewers the chance to catch up with more big stories- the main show maybe goes in depth about 2-3 stories in each episode (the rest of the time is padded with Andi Peters, or needless debates, as much as I Iove the debates) whereas the newsreader segment at the top of the hour is needed as a 'catch-up' quick segment, similar to BBC Three's 60 second news things a few years ago.

On the other hand, do we know it’s not the case though?
The papers made quite a thing of saying Ranvir was a rising star, I’m not so sure - she’s *that* important to itv in all honesty, with the greatest of respect. As for the make up of the programme, particularly as newsreader it’s not a role which has an huge impact to the overall show. Nonetheless, I do I enjoy Ranvir and think she’s a good broadcaster. I’m just not sure they’d be a gaping hole at itv if she say jumped ship to BBC News etc.
Other than GMB other opportunities are somewhat limited, there was clearly a choice to give Charlene the Loose Women gig, when it seemed like they were testing out Ranvir and Charlene for that role. I’d also say Kate would be next in line for something like Lorraine’s slot if she was to move on at any point.
Arguably Ranvir doing the odd weekend shift for the ITV News and covering every other Friday or so as she was up until she did Strictly is a higher profile than reading the news for an extra day on GMB.
Arguably too GMB have sidelined both Ranvir and Charlotte further by relying more on guest male presenters when for a year or two they were quite happy to have a female pairing fronting the show. It still happens occassionally but not as frequently as it once was.
Not that there is any sign that Susanna will be moving on any time soon but if she were at the moment I'd put Ranvir as the front runner to replace her. Indeed feels like at the moment it would take Susanna leaving for them to sort out the male host role on a permanent basis too.
Can’t link to it on here for some reason but judging by her Instagram it looks like she could be heading to Ukraine to report.
Great spot David, that almost looks like a new square logo there… Certainly different to what we have seen before.
Just from that short clip you can see the basis of how a new graphics package in that style would work.
The current style is such a mishmash of concepts going all the way back to GMB v1, remixed and tweaked to the extreme. If they do update the graphics, (and I’m not saying that they will necessarily) a package that they implement and stick with would be welcome.
Surely would have made sense to book Martin Lewis for Wednesday and Thursday too considering this is his area of expertise. Odd to do a promo around one presenter for a show featuring another.

I thought exactly the same on both points. The promo above, actually tags Adil (and Charlotte) as presenting but featuring Martin Lewis so prominently feels a bit odd, especially when those male hosts all just rotating guest presenters.
And yes today and tomorrow, would have been ideal days for Martin to guest host, perhaps he has other commitments, and obviously Ben’s main role is Thursday/Friday, if he’s around this week. But it may have been an idea to swap things around for this week.
I’m not entirely sure Martin Lewis getting too involved with GMB will be good for his image and reputation
His way of working as a guest or on his own show is always practical advice, sensible, level headed, not sensationalised or over dramatic and not political
Whereas we know GMB is generally the complete opposite
