Also the split-screen background has been updated in a similar style. Looks quite nice with a splash of colour added.

I imagine James couldn’t do it as he needs time to prep his LBC show at 10am.

I'm not - despite the fact that Susanna would attempt to strike a balance GMB would essentially become a 'liberally-biased' show - which would drive away the remaining Piers/Madeley fans.

You could say the same about Alastair Campbell though.

Martin Lewis doesn't strike me as particularly right of center.
Think this morning's graphical tweaks are rather pleasant. Nothing especially revolutionary but smart enough and pleasingly colourful. A rather nice change.

I agree. Also Richard Madeley was predictably trending this morning. Seemed to be around him questioning the point of vaccines, although when I tuned in he was more interested - whilst interviewing Laura Tobin live in Svalbard up near the Arctic reporting on climate change - in what would happen if a polar bear fancied attacking her.
In a way, Richard does suit GMB in that he gets the agenda going with his views and also can handle politicians but also he's not afraid of looking foolish as we've seen many many times.
Bearing in mind GMB (which likes to refer to itself as "Britain's most talked about breakfast show") basks in any form of interaction from the public, even where this is largely negative in nature (as we saw with Piers on various occasions), you'd think they'd be thinking long and hard about making Richard Madeley a more permanent addition, as - as all new Phil implies - he certainly gets people talking whenever he appears.

He’s one of an increasingly small number of TV personalities who doesn’t reveal who he votes for.

He’s also very careful to explain on Twitter and on other shows that if he’s criticising the government, it’s over a very specific issue that he is talking about, rather than just the usual broad brush politics that you often get these days

But he’s not exactly as outspoken as James O’Brien, is he?
