Martin Lewis back as a guest host later this week
It seems they like to do a Mon-Wed / Thu-Fri split with presenters. Actually considering Ben & Kate are always the Friday team, would make more sense to get guest presenters on Mon/Tue and then Ben doing Wed-Fri. I suppose they’re maybe more keen to use the likes of Ranvir and Charlotte in the main chair towards the end of the end of week though.
I was in the minority in not enjoying Martin on his last stint, but will be interesting to watch him again. I’m surprised Eamonn hasn’t appeared yet, considering him and Ruth don’t do This Morning as much.
This comes up all the time. Eamonn has previously said on Twitter and on This Morning that he doesn't miss the early starts that he had to do when working at GMTV/GMB/Sunrise and wouldn't do it again. He also suffers from severe back pain and insomnia. He's obviously happy just doing This Morning and occasional projects, such as the new Farm to Feast cookery series he's filmed for BBC NI.
Apologies if it’s an old topic, wasn’t aware. I mean early starts yes fair enough. Obviously anyone one employed on an occasional, freelance or casual basis can pick and chose their shifts and type of work they take on. Without delving into personal territory, I would just say that considering Eamonn has just done seven weeks of doing live telly five days out of seven on This Morning, I wouldn’t rule him out of an occasional two day stint as guest host on GMB. To clarify, I was never suggesting he was a permanent option.

I too to be honest didn’t think Martin was as good as I expected last time but; I initially was not impressed by Piers when he first did a guest slot.
I like the way they have brought different people in over the last few week; Louisa and Ria doing the first half hour etc.
I still think they should let Laura present the main programme and maybe with Alex.
Robert Rinder would be a good choice but we will see what it is like this week.
No Autumn change as such this time but that was I expect to be expected considering Erron will be leaving soon and we have already seen changes this year.
The weather is coming from a different part of the studio this morning. This is due to the fact that the weather screen is broken, as seen in an Instagram story Laura Tobin posted yesterday.
Martin Lewis is a very capable broadcaster, but it seems to be a bit of a trend that they are having people that don’t want the gig permanently hosting, which I would question the wisdom of, personally.
Six months on from Morgan’s departure, they really ought to have had a new permanent host ready to start at the beginning of this month. The longer they wait, it increases the speculation that Morgan is going to return, helps to reinforce the fantasy that he is ‘irreplaceable’, and prevents the program from really moving on.
Massive congratulations to Kate, Derek and their family after Kate just accepted the NTA for the Finding Derek documentary

This lengthy gap before appointing a new permanent host isn't unusual for ITV Daytime, remember that when Adrian and Christine left Daybreak almost a decade ago now in December 2011, they didn't have permanent replacements for them onscreen until September 2012 when it relaunched

Absolutely, I just cannot imagine what she and her family had to go through this past year, very brave and wonderful woman, so proud of her.

I personally think that GMB will keep Guest Hosts in place until Christmas and they'll have a Permanent Replacement ready for January.
Unless GMB Decide that they want to keep a having rotation of their Regular Guest Hosts (Adil Ray, Martin Lewis, Richard Madeley and Alastair Campbell) Permanently, then I think that a Permanent Replacement for Piers is a Must from January Onwards
I think if GMB want to keep going on with guest presenters then they will have to bring in different presenters instead of the same presenters rotating every few weeks or months.
That is a good point - if they haven't found someone so far bringing the same hosts back isn't going to solve the problem. I don't think you could even say they've ruled anyone out by not inviting them back.
Pleased that Richard Madeley is back. He's my favourite out of all of the guest hosts.

Quite. They don’t seem any further forward with finding a permanent replacement than they were in April to be honest.
I don’t think the inconsistency helps either - Ben might fill in Mon-Weds one week, do his regular Thurs-Fri the next week, not be on the week after, etc. with random guest hosts in between suggests they’ve got little in the way of a solution to the co-host problem.
I’m surprised James O’Brien from LBC hasn’t done a stint, given he did a forgotten show for ITV daytime. Also Adrian Chiles weird as that might sound. I agree the current situation is dragging on.
New stinger graphics in use from today.
