Just saw that they used a QR code for the competition details screen today. Has this been done before? Quite a clever idea, shame they don't use them for other things.
In 'clever split screen effect' news, they seem to have tightened it up to give a more pre-pandemic look to the presenter positions, in lieu of the more spaced look they've been using recently.

Here's a not especially high quality image to illustrate this:

It's down to personal taste, I suppose, but the above looks about right to me.

I first noticed them last week, do they use them for any other daytime shows?

Martin Lewis presenting GMB from the 28th.
Interesting. He's someone I'd not expect to anchor a Breakfast programme.
Clearly a money saving move. Wink

I'm shocked with that choice, I really didn't have him down as a choice
Here’s your Piers replacement. Inspired choice.
Interesting choice, I’ll be watching to see how he does.

I hope he doesn’t read the stories as fast as he usually goes through his financial advice, or else they’ll end up with half an hour to kill at the end!
Martin is a good choice, never expected that. He is his own man and so I don't expect him to be a Piers clone. He will be firm without being nasty. He has a good personality and a sense of humour. If he does well then he might be the man for the job.
I think Martin being a familiar face will help, I suspect his commitments to his website and The Martin Lewis Money Show means he'll unlikely to do it on a permanent basis.

Would love to see them get Emma Barnett do a guest stint but I suspect her commitments to Woman's Hour would prevent it.

He even said that he doesn't want to do it permanently https://twitter.com/MartinSLewis/status/...37828?s=20
A grand move in my opinion.

Martin will be another excellent choice to present
From within the family, they should give Chris Ship a test drive for a week. He’d be more than capable and is reasonably well known to viewers. Able to handle news in all formats.
