I'm looking forward to GB News. A new news channel is always an exciting prospect for a tv news & presentation junkie. New sets, music, graphics, presenters, schedules. What's not to like? As for the content, I believe they will be objective but with an attitude and opinion mixed in.

Anyway, will be tuning in at 21.00 cet to watch. Hope the You Tube stream will work from the start.

Might I ask when will it be appropriate to discuss the content of the channel, or can we only ever discuss the graphics displayed on top of it.

They are certainly widely distributing the channel. Was surprised to see Chromecast supported from the outset in the Android app (and it works... so far, at least!).

If the channel streams live on YouTube too - as I think was promised - you'd be able to cast it from there too if you have a Chromecast.

I have noticed their GB News website schedule section is very confusing. They have gone down an American path, where instead of putting a simply Monday to Sunday schedule with each day clearly marked, they are simply using dates with the days in their scheduling.

This is a very confusing format. If you wanted to see for example what is on a TUESDAY, I would have preferred to simply select the TUESDAY headed schedule list. That is not the case for GB News, you have to select the date, so for this Tuesday you have scroll down to "15/06/2021" which doesn't even include the day Tuesday.

This looks very messy and confusing. I am surprised they went down this style.

They’ve started using the ticker and clock on the TV feed over the preview clips (watch live at gbnews.uk).

I’ve got to say the graphics don’t look that professional - alignment has gone out of the window, as it seems. Keeping my fingers crossed that these are just teething issues and that the finished product looks better. It may look better with the other supers too, who knows.

That does all look very cramped. Everything is slightly off.

Obviously it's only an initial indicator of what the graphics will be like, but it's not the best start when the alignment is worse than my first Gallery creations.

With that big clock and red lines separating the ticker segments, it does look like someone's tried to recreate the Sky News ticker with a tenth of the budget and technical knowhow.

DOG and 'follow us' section look nice enough, in my view.

We'll have to wait and see what the full package looks like, I suppose, to get the full picture.

I'm wondering if they might have a bit of an issue with differing standards between the graphics that won't change that often (DOG, 'Follow Us' Tag and Intros), and the remaining graphics which change on a regular basis.

I do think it's rather neat that Red Bee can overlay a full ticker, not just a DOG etc.

(anyone watching off-air know if there are subtitles?)

The ticker looks better in HD, but I can't quite get used to the positioning of the clock.

To be picky purely on the graphics:
- I prefer symmetry (i.e. the unequal spacing around the | characters separating stories looks wrong to me)
- I'm not mad about the gradient at the far left and right ends of the ticker, I think it should just be flush
- that faint diagonal line behind the clock (which is part of the flag) looks wrong (and no normal person will release it's part of the logo)
- I'd ditch the 'Follow us', given it doesn't actually tell you the account names (but I also hate it when channels pad out the ticker contents with email addresses, social media etc.)

Didn't BBC News 24 as it was named back then had issues with their on screen clock with their 2007 revamp, and it was changed not long after the revamp?
