I don’t agree with that. As Johnnyboy says, GB News is probably not for you. If you outlook leans more left, you have both the BBC and Channel 4 filling that remit, with ITV and Sky in the centre. If anything, will GB News not provide balance by covering the waterfront?

No offence James but the channel hasn't launched yet. It is NOT for you to decide where it may settle within the news orbit. I suggest you are merely projecting your hopes..... as per usual.
Interesting too that Guto's S4C role will continue

I imagine this will mean he will no longer appear on Sky's Press Preview, for example, though.

TravisM - Please respect the rules about politics. Your post makes it abundantly clear which side of the fence you're on, and it's not of interest. The rules are very clear on this.

Also - johnnyboy and James Martin - your subsequent comments, well intentioned or not, are only taking things further into politics and further away from the topic at hand. I feel the above statement is creeping into the realms of being needlessly personal and unduly curt, irrespective of whether you think the user was in the wrong to post the comment he did.

Let's agree to draw this to a close now please and get back to discussing the channel and its presentation.

That's what @James Martin is famous for. Give him a plaque or blue badge for annoyance.

I'll be giving you a warning if you keep on with this line of discussion. DavidWhitfield has made the position clear, don't keep rocking the boat.

WHAT? Me??????
Right, I've had just about enough of this petty squabbling. The forum rules state:

Quote:Treat all members of the community with respect and communicate in a polite and courteous manner. Personal attacks, aggressive messages, and passive-aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you feel another user is attacking or being aggressive towards you, report their message to staff using the Report function, do not respond publicly.

Warnings will be imposed for ANY member who goes off topic in this thread as of now.

There was a similar "last time we're all together" post from the VJ's which might suggest they're going intro full rehearsals from next week.
Has there been any mention of late/overnight programmes? I presume just replays of programming from during the day or will we see a Nightscreen style service with a ticker, images etc?
Any information about how they will present the weather and has there been any mention about sports news, Euros start soon
I'm guessing the "box" Ellie mentions is a 4G modem?

We don't even know if they will even have these segments, I thought? I would find it pretty unlikely to be included anywhere other than perhaps the morning/breakfast programming.

Looks like a 4g belt pack for talkback, though you'd expect them to possibly use mobiles for that.

The camera is interesting - looks like they're going down the route of using an encoder in the camera and sending the pics over 4G / 5G - possibly NDI since it's a Panasonic camera?

Having used the Sony equivalent, you soon realise how mobile bonding actually comes in useful.

Even with bonding, is 4G (I'm going to disregard 5G due to the coverage…) practical - EDIT: "reliable" - for live stuff in the UK yet?
And can you make simple edits to recorded footage on the camera and tell it to send those clips, or do you still need a laptop etc.?

Sorry for being off topic but peterrocket is a poster I used to love on the old place but I thought had left the community many moons ago.

You probs don't remember me but I remember you. Good to hear from you again.
