I think it works from a brand perspective (I could see it on idents of the team talking to 'real people from around the UK') but they need something harder for actual news bulletins (and I hope they have it).

Yep that would sound out of place during rolling news programmes. I wonder if the background with blue/red lighting will be replicated in the set?

The guitar and clapping reminds me a bit of Doctors (the daytime soap).

Yeh not very newsy. I don't think it works if you are reading headlines of a serious nature with clapping in the theme tune.

I know we've questions about their bias but I doubt they'll go as far as clapping Boris Johnson in the headlines.

As someone born and raised in Nottingham, I’m not sure the stories and voices from the region are any more unique than anywhere else in the country, apart from the addition of the word ‘duck’ in every other sentence.

I feel this is all a bit messy to be honest, and the strap line just doesn’t work in my opinion.
