While these idents are not so wonderful like Balloon era, this idents are improvement and carried spiritual sucessors to circle-era idents.
I think this ident packages have a room to improve, such at this time, it was limited to just eight idents, and more idents are likely to be added over the next few days.
Red lighting in the background also, also helps to signify BBC1. I thought the music seemed a bit weak, but at least there was music. Rotating the camera around the action is great and the lens rotating also. Not sure how the Festival dancing in the lens relates to the skateboarding. I suppose we'll see the Festival ident with Skateboarding in the lens, at some point?
So now we know, the BBC One Christmas Ident was supposed to have the lens effect. Shame it didn't, as I really like this visual flair. Its a much more dynamic and interesting conception. I'd argue its a better execution of The Circles concept. The camera moving along with the action, and the added effect of the lens make it so. Also, PEOPLE ARE NOT JUST STANDING AROUND.

Yep, these new idents are looking pretty good.
Interesting - that tweet from BBC Press certainly makes things a bit clearer than on first watch. The lens showing that scene at a different time is slightly more obvious for the scenes with the bench and street than it was on the skate park.
Doesn't seem to be any news-friendly ident though.
Looks great! Have these been made with motion controlled cameras? Also pretty much confirms that last year's Christmas idents were produced with the new look in mind.
They do look nice; a circle theme is back. simple without being too simple. The concept looks nice so far.

The Press Office's compilation clip is just gorgeous. The variants look like they've got a lot of the bases covered so it shouldn't get too repetitive. And we have a soundtrack!
