I really like this one.

These new idents on BBC One are really impressive. The style of them just improves all the time when they each have their airings played out on the channel. The night time idents have certainly exceeded the expectations of Oneness for me right out of the water. I would be happy to see the daytime idents doing something similar once they air on the channel from tomorrow.

It does feel like the focus groups on the negative reaction to Oneness concluded that viewers hated people staring at the camera so they've gone "we'll film a set of idents where people have their back to the camera" instead.

The night sky one that's just been aired is rather lovely.

Sky ident just used going into Braveheart. Interestingly the trees in the foreground which moved in front of the BBC logo and ONE text didn’t move over the Subtitles DOG, unlike the way it gets obscured on other idents.

Yes, I quite liked this one mainly for the soothing music.

They do feel a little empty though, but hey... I'm maybe a little old fashioned that way.

So the BBC One idents are to me a clear loser in the Chameleon rebrand. The worst of everything I’ve seen so far. Just dull as ditchwater.

Weirdly BBC Two’s are better - and they didn’t even change the ident. They just worked with the top & bottom framing.

Massive missed opportunity.

But… they can rescue this. I like the lens idea. It just needs ratcheting up. More of the lens, appearing from start to finish. At no point should it just be the scene without the lens. The other elements should keep appearing - however briefly - all the way through.

New idents are fantastic really love the aesthetic of them all feels modern
