Big fan of this on the whole. The idents look slick, and it’s clear what the concept is. I’d like to see a slightly livelier one amongst the set maybe - Festival leading into a Saturday night show in the R&M era always felt perfect - but hopefully that will come as more are added.
I must say I’m still not sold on this style of BBC at the top and channel name at the bottom. It would look quite neat it if animated towards the middle similar to the iPlayer animation at the end of trails. That’s just a slight niggle though.
For Some reason the Warehouse Rave Music Reminded Me Of The Rythmn and movement Festival Ident. This is what i was thinking Whenever that Ident would Come on!

I get the feeling they at least had the lens idents in mind when they made the christmas ones. They also have that slow camera movement from right to left going on.

South West did it too (probably because the Lido idents aren't here yet and they want something that represents them), they used the pan steel band ident.
London doesn't even have that excuse since most, if not all, the new idents were filmed in the region!
Suspect this was because the Sunday regional politics shows are usually filmed on Friday afternoon with the ident part of the record and, thanks to the unique way the BBC often works, no one joined the dots.

Yes - muted is the word. Festival stands out because it pops a bit, but the others lack the bit of life an injection of colour would bring. I don't think it needs to be in every ident but one of the three in each set needs to contrast significantly IMO.

The whole concept of these new idents is that it's showcasing three different usages of the same setting. It's just not clear to me at all that this IS the same setting, so the effect is completely lost on me. As a result, I'm sorry to say that all I see when I watch this 'Warehouse' ident is three entirely disconnected clips of a woman lying down, people skating, and people jumping.
It's a real shame as I really like the Hall, Bench, and Farm idents.
I see. The only problem is, the entire place is dark. Real dark.
It's funny because you can clearly see the warehouse is the same setting in the life drawing and skateboarding variants. It's too hard to tell with the rave variant because of how it's lit.

I know what you mean but I don't think it is the EastEnders set because through the railway arch, you can see what looks like a very real council estate type block of flats.
It actually reminds me of the railway arches / council estates / Watney Market you see near Shadwell DLR station in the E1 part of London.

Especially as the BBC had introduced an across the board refresh. Perhaps continuing with Oneness would disguise the changes a bit and make it appear to be a less significant expenditure, which is why the new idents were quietly rolled out, without fanfare or mention, on a Friday evening.

That may be. But even with the new idents, I saw a video on the new idents on Youtube, and in the comment section, they were still going on about the "license fee" thing. As if they think the TV license fee is only for the television programs and not the entire organization. Which it isn't.

Does the regional broadcast chain now work in a way that means the region's don't need to play these out themselves but instead them be played out centrally for each region?
I'm a bit late but Network used the Birdwatchers Oneness ident to introduce Politics this morning. Do you think this intentional or unintentional?
