Oh yes! MansvsMachine! The one who made the 4Seven idents with the soundtracks that are so similar to BBC One’s new soundtracks. Echolab created 4Seven’s soundtracks, so I wonder if they made the BBC One soundtracks?

ManvsMachine also confirmed that the second batch is already on its way and there'll be a full case study and BTS on their site soon.

From the data I have seen these are three separate idents. So one version is Hall NCT Meeting, another is Hall Trampoline and another is Hall Showtime. The name of the ident describes the main action scene.

I think that some of the criticism of the idents on here is a bit over the top. There is a lot going on in these idents; the lens effect, which includes changing sounds as well as images, the moving camera, the action, the logo blending into the scene. Any more would be overkill.

There’s beauty in the subtlety of the lens disappearing, from which you could draw a philosophical point about the nature of place and time: everything is momentary. There’s beauty in the camera angles, the scenery and the colours.

But the idents are also clever. They link together to tell a story; and if you’ve watched them a few times, then you can see it’s the same place, even if that’s less obvious on night one. The cleverness also lies in the resurrection of a rotating sphere - the channel’s first emblem.

For me, all this is enough. Beautiful, smart but not in-your-face. Entirely appropriate for BBC ONE.

I forgot to add that the central rotating sphere, with the rotation of the scene around it is reminiscent of the effect created by the mirror globes.

So, I also think there’s a lot of thought involved in creating new idents which have hints of previous idents on the channel. Perhaps the skateboarders and ravers are also deliberate.

I mentioned above the BBC Choice-esque idents on BBC THREE... With the launch of these idents on BBC ONE, I’d say there’s an intentional effort to celebrate the BBC’s history in the new presentation. Another element of sophistication.

As for Northern Ireland, they showed the daytime Bench ident with a family sitting on it enjoying the view.

Indeed - I've seen a few comments wishing they were more like the BBC HD idents, which were fun and perfect for the kind of channel it was at the time where each programme would feel like an event, but I feel something like that would be a bit too "in-your-face" for BBC One.

Scout are just a locations company, the camera system was a MRMC Titan motion arm I believe.

Interesting. I’d wondered how they’d matched the movement exactly between the different shots. The link you posted doesn’t seem to be working, but I’m presuming the motion arm is computer controlled so the movement can be replicated exactly every time.
