The second episode of BGT airs on the Sunday at 7.30pm.
I guess doubling up for the first weekend makes up for the lost week where SNT wasn't on. Meaning we'll still have the same number of audition shows before May half term.

Makes sense as it's Easter Weekend too - so all fits in quite nicely for ITV.
Does it? Doctor Who is on BBC One at 7.10, so it clashes with the first half hour. They'll cannibalise each other's audience.
I meant fits quite nicely as in keeping the BGT audition episode number the same without extending a week (which I guess they can’t do if they want half term week for the semis!)

I don’t think Doctor Who will be much of a threat though?
Guessing it'll climax on Jubilee weekend, although with the new ITV schedule be interesting to see how they fit it in on weeknights, though with the Thursday and Friday being Bank Holidays they'll likely have shorter editions of the Evening News anyhow.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if the BGT live shows are cut back down to 90 minutes and air at 9pm rather than messing up the soap schedule. Or perhaps airing four (losing one wouldn't harm) live semi finals over that extended Bank Holiday weekend from 8-10 with the final the weekend after.

Guessing it'll be weekly then?

It's on Sunday - Wednesday and then a documentary about the real case on the Thursday.

I can see it being BGT at 8.30pm, with Emmerdale being half an hour early (i.e. it's old 7pm timeslot) on Thursday and Friday so that Corrie can air 8pm on Mon-Thurs (half hour slot) and 7.30pm (for an hour) on the Friday.

I think that is the most likely outcome. They can leave Emmerdale at 7.30, have BGT at 8pm and move Corrie to 9.30pm Mon-Wed and then with shorter bulletins on the Bank Holidays just follow what was the old schedule Emmerdale 7pm Corrie 7.30pm including an hour of Corrie for the Jubilee on Friday . If they didn't screen an hour of Emmerdale on Thursday they could always make up for it with an hour the following Tuesday.
Talking of Bank Holidays just to note over Easter they've opted to put The Chase in the 6.30-7.30pm slot, with Lingo and Tipping Point pushed back an hour and the national and regional news from 6-6.30pm.
Nice to see ITV airing films on Good Friday and Easter Monday afternoons as they did for the Bank Holidays through last year. I think they may have influenced BBC One to air a film on a Bank Holiday other then Christmas for the first time in a while on Easter Monday.
Yes nice to see them airing films as well as the usual daytime shows that seem to be shown on Bank Holidays in recent times. It makes sense to fill the 6.30-7.30 hour with The Chase rather than move the soaps earlier. Now they have moved them to their new slots they need to stick to it.

There is one more series left of both which have already been pre-recorded. The adult version will air in the Autumn and the kids version will air over Christmas. I have heard about the main series being pushed back to Autumn elsewhere.

You can delete your post as ITV has denied The Voice is being axed.
Took them about three years though to admit The X Factor had been axed. I suspect they'll see how it does this autumn before making a call, but if Pop Idol did return I think it's unlikely The Voice would. There is just no noise around the show at all anymore, and that's almost more important than ratings nowadays.

Personally think if the Pop Idol revival doesn't happen an X Factor revival in 2024 is highly likely.
It’s looking likely that The Voice is being pushed into the Autumn then, with a clash more than likely guaranteed with SCD. Either for a the full show or just a part clash.

If it’s a shorter series (as I believe has been reported before today?) I guess it would plug the gap ITV have before the World Cup.

I wonder if they’d leave it on the bubble for next year and see how a Pop Idol series does before making up a definite idea. But I do think it’s a shame they moved the Kids version away from the summer as it seemed to be a fairly decent ratings banker for August.
