It will be stripped across a week so I guess that is a lower risk strategy. But I'm not sure who it appeals to.
Has this been confirmed? I really thought that Simon might sit out from judging.

I must have missed Simon getting confirmed. I am not sure that is wise at all. It will make it seem like a X factor spin off.

The Cube finishes next week though I'd have thought promos would have started by now if it was to air the week after.
EDIT: Missed the comments about it being stripped.

If Walk The Line is successful, you have to wonder about the long term future of The X Factor and the effect of adult singers choosing WTL over BGT. Presumably more kids to get through to the semi-finals on the latter but the overall standard of acts may drop.

Maya Jama hosting as well makes it feel like they’re going very young. I think they need a fourth judge in there with older appeal if that’s who they’re going with.
Simon Cowell was confirmed right from the outset like you say and I think it’s right that he’s judging because he’s probably the only person that’s been rumoured with any appeal to an audience.
A strip the week after I’m a Celeb does seem likely, so I guess they’ll have a lot of young viewers to plug it to, but I still think there’s a decent chance of it struggling, just because the audience for these shows is narrower than it used to be and there’s a disconnect between who they’ve booked and the 9pm ITV audience.

Is it live, or at least recorded pretty close to transmission, or did Cowell sneak back into the UK at some point? Has anything been said about resuming AGT: Extreme since the accident last week - the sort of accident that often gets a show pulled.

Recording soon I think, it’s listed on Applause Store but no dates yet. There will apparently be a live final, so the rest must be recording pretty close to transmission.
No word on AGT Extreme resuming yet, last I heard was that it’s been pushed back to at least after Thanksgiving. Which will make it difficult to schedule with Cowell returning to the UK to do Walk the Line, followed by BGT auditions in January. I’m not sure whether they’ll go back to it, and if they do I expect it’ll be one season and done. Terrible accident, and if nothing else who is going to insure them after that?
The main thing of course is that it sound like the guy involved in the accident is going to be OK, which given what happened is pretty miraculous really.

Sounds like there is only going to be 3 shows, Bullseye, Strike It Lucky and Child’s Play.

There is still a civilian episode each of Play Your Cards Right and Take Your Pick left from the last series (plus an unknown episode which I assume is an Xmas special).
So tag those 2 on to the 3, plus a few celebrity specials (which might be some of the other shows) and you’ve got a full series.

Re Walk the Line, the first 2 recordings are now showing on Applause Store for 11th & 14th November.

I thought I knew my game shows but have never heard of Child's Play. It only gets a single sentence synopsis on UKGameshows.com

It appears to just involve people guessing words based off a child's definition.
