Cactus TV make the shows they're commissioned to make, so you can hardly blame them alone for this kind of thing. If nobody wanted to broadcast them, they wouldn't make them.
If I remember correctly, the Zoe Ball and then Sara Cox shows were basically the same? Taking on the format that Aled Jones ended up with after leaving Daybreak?
The Martin & Roman Kemp fronted show (was it Weekend Best by the end as it aired both days?) was at least a little different, I wonder if that will return after all these new ones have wrapped up?

More details here - significantly revamped by the looks of it with a male or female champion and contestants having to face off against a team of established "Ninjas" in head to head battles. Nice they're keeping the same presenting trio.

TVZone also reporting that Rolling In It has been shelved which is a shame as it’s performed pretty decently over the past few years.

Although they’ve previously reported that Ninja Warrior had been axed so it’ll probably be recommissioned next week!

And they said Moneyball wasn’t returning.. but it is!
The first series was shelved too until a global pandemic forced ITV to look at the back of the cupboard.
Any news on The Cube? From what we know I suspect this autumn we're looking at Moneyball, Ninja Warrior and The Voice on Saturdays and Sitting on a Fortune, Family Fortunes and a 9pm drama on Sundays, even though you can garden say the two new gameshows were successful in those slots last year.
Male and female champion? But in the old format there was no guarantee of a champion at all. Only one person, the perfectly named Tim Champion, has ever completed the final course in the UK show and officially earned the title of Ninja Warrior. Which makes me wonder where these Gladiators style Ninjas will be sourced from.

Perhaps from the original Japanese, or other international versions? That's what I first thought anyway.
Looked it up, and apparently even Japan has only four winners, and Sasuke has been running since 1997 there. Wikipedia has a full list: United States: 2, Vietnam: 3, United Kingdom: 1, France: 4, Australia: 3, Germany: 2, and Israel: 2. Including Japan, that's a total of 21. Two of the French winners had their victories aired just last month!

Ninja Warriors was definitely axed and the team were told. The more reliable Broadcast is calling this a revival. Clearly the pandemic ratings caused a rethink
For me, Ninja Warrior was too repetitive and needed some variety and personality but perhaps they didn't want to have the ninjas before as that would have led to more comparisons with Gladiators.
Seems to be a bit of a change in strategy next week on ITV2 daytime with the lunchtime block of quiz show repeats out, filled by ITV2 style shows moving forward along with Ellen. Then from 3pm it's reruns of Hart of Dixie, One Tree Hill and The OC - probably with the latter two at least bang on target for the sort of age group actually watching ITV2 now when it comes to retro teen drama of the early to mid noughties.
