My prediction for that date mentioned at page 82 was correct, but when that staff member said “around about the 21st”, well, who knows. It could be the 20th, 21st, or 22nd, but most likely, the 21st. Despite the new logo being similar to the current one, I’m excited for the rebrand!

Although going by something posted the other day not everything will rebrand on the same day. Sounded to me like the rollout starts then.

The emphasis seems to be on user experience and look of the various online products, so I imagine they will roll out all on day 1 along with the TV channels

I don't believe that quote that you showed were staff, because i see that the quote is more likely from external source. But at least, we will know when the official launch of new logo at the eve of the rebrand (if confirmed).

Personally, I hope the BBC move on from stylising BBC 1 as BBC [size=150]one[/size], the lowercase letters being enlarged just look wrong to me and when every other channel has the name in capitals, it makes BBC 1 stand out, but not in a good way.

Hopefully 'BBC ONE' is brought back, with a suitable symbol/icon to go with it.

Whilst I don't have a problem with the concept and style of the new logo, and what I've seen of the way it's being used is quite impressive, I do think the logo itself has been very poorly made – especially for something which is going to be the face of such a large and well known global organisation.

After watching the accompanying trail in the all-staff briefing, I was struck by how normal the new logo looked over Tim Davie’s shoulder. I almost had to do a double-take because I thought it was the old one.

Like many on here, I wasn’t keen on it at first glance. But it definitely grows on you - when you see it in the context of the various branding elements.

If we look back to pre-Reith BBC News titles, the box suddenly looks a bit weird… a bit squished. In the fullness of time, the new logo will make the old one stand out like a sore thumb. Inevitably when some BBC outpost inadvertently uses the old logo and we are all talking about it.

Yes - that definitely looks better. Now if you can make your corrected version the top Google image search result for ‘BBC Logo’, it’ll be in widespread use before we know it. Wink

These are the big six digital services they have been focusing on for years now:
- Bitesize
- Sports
- News
- iPlayer
- Sounds
- Weather

It looks to me like moving Sport to a very generic logo (instead of a flag etc which we've seen) has had a knock on effect to the News logo. So we've ended up with 2 very generic logos for Sports and News.

The News one looks like a map of the world to me. The big block Eurasia, then Africa below and the Americas to the left.

Surely these are just for the apps and online - not for every BBC outlet and department.

Poor South America doesn’t get a look in if it’s supposed to be a map of the world.
