I'm pretty sure what we're seeing on these test websites is a work-in-progress - they've simply added the new header onto otherwise unchanged web pages, which is why the logos don't line up. When the updated websites go live, they will have the new channel logos which should (hopefully) line up better with the new BBC logo at the top, as well as new backgrounds - I'm sure they're not going to stick with those red circles on the BBC1 background image which are already several years out-of-date.

The circles on BBC One's page at least sort of line up with what's currently on screen, obviously the Circles aren't being used anymore but they still fit in with Oneness somewhat.

Interesting to see BBC Two's page has gone back to using the window Two symbol however...

I wouldn't be surprised if the new branding launched tomorrow because of James Mobbs' tweet.
Would be nice.

They had the consistency of the 1997 corporate branding, while allowing for more personality for their channels, since the BBC wanted proper logos at that point, the 1997 corporate branding scheme I feel wouldn't last too long and would have gotten stale in its original form.

Yes, you are in the minority and we don't agree with you, when the boxed logos were introduced the BBC has a choice, they could've sticked with the 1997 style with the logo first along side with the name of the channel next to it side by side, or they could've got rid of the 1997 logo and the font and replaced it with a new logo and new font, because the 1997 logo and font did not work with the boxed logos.

I honestly don't know what your problem is but it seems like every single post I've seen from you, you're arguing about how the 'old days' were supposedly better. It's happened multiple times in this thread. Can't you just accept that people have different opinions from yours?

Back to ToasterMan's point, I definitely agree about the boxed logos. They've become very messy in recent times thanks to BBC One breaking out of the box and BBC Three becoming a square, but for a time I'd say they rivaled the original 1997 brand in terms of consistency.

I indeed like the boxes myself (that is, until around 2013 when the sizes started becoming more inconsistent), although I've never really understood why BBC News put the box front and centre in 2008, when BBC One had begun the move away from using the boxed logo on idents just two years earlier. :?

Yes there was a short promo in the DGs thing earlier which showed off the new logo and how it works with the various brands. It wasn't a big 'here's our new logo' announcement though it was used throughout the internal broadcast behind Tim Davie.

It's slowly growing on me, it'll take a while to get used to it. The way it's animated is nce though - the 3 squares change shape and move to form things like the new iplayer logo etc. It's messed around with a lot more than the old one.

However it is still no good when used at a small size, they used it in the corner of the screen at one point amd the current logo was in another corner (the usual iplayer style watermark) and it was illegible

I assume that in Tim Davie presentation about the new logo, BBC Radio will have more unified look for its national, regional, and local stations and plenty radio stations will be renamed (Radio 5 Live to Radio 5 or Radio 6 Music to Radio 6). I also see Superunion involved in the rebranding, primarily on BBC Two.

I'm of the common opinion that I see no improvement to the current logo, but if we see these new blocks associated with some s**t hot presentation, hopefully we'll warm to it. Like a parallel universe to the 2006 ITV logo, which represents a pretty awful era for the company as a whole.

In all seriousness, I seemingly have warmed up to the logo. Yes, it doesn't work on small sizes but neither did the 1997 logo. I've always thought that, in the case of the iPlayer DOG, maybe just 3 squares, no lettering, in the corner, similarly with anything else BBC branded. It should be that the 3 blocks "symbolise" BBC without having to spell it out, like how in the recent MTV rebranding the main focus is on the "M".

Even more noticeable is it will be the first rebranding for BBC Four since its channel's launch 19 years ago replacing BBC Knowledge (UK then digital channel). I don't know whether the colour of BBC Four is changing or not and i also don't know whether Cbeebies is also getting a rebrand as the kids channel still using the 2002 logo until now.

The rebranding is exactly happened at least in October. I don't know when the date for new logo is launched but i assume they will have to issue a press release to the public as soon after new BBC logo was launched. So, we must prepare for it.

No it isn’t. BBC Four started off with random graphics which moved to the sound/music. The current set are the channel’s second.

BBC Four finally getting new idents for the first time in 16 years. And getting a new logo for the first time since the channel's launch!

Welp it's almost time to put the lake off to the side. The excitement keeps growing and growing!
