It’s gonna be a mammoth effort, but when replacing the main corporate logo which is plastered everywhere, it needs to be done quickly and not drip fed.
Ah. Was “round about Spooky Season” so maybe just end of October!
So I’m going for Saturday 30th October!

I don't believe October 31st has ever been mentioned before as the date though. We've only just been told 'October' or 'late October' but that doesn't mean the 31st...
I'm pretty sure they'll roll out a promo in the coming weeks to introduce the new look, though, as it would make no sense just to drop it as a surprise.
Lester post_id=35985 time= user_id=1090 Wrote:Does anyone else find an October launch slightly odd? Isn't the first week of September the start of the big autumn season and the most obvious time to start afresh? Maybe that was the plan and it got delayed?
The fact that the One Show studio is currently being updated seems to indicate that September was the plan. Will it be launching it's new look eight weeks before BBC One as a whole does?

Have we?
Well one of our insiders said Spooky Season! So I reckon Hallowe’en.
It'd be nice if they did it on the 4th to coincide with the 24th anniversary of the current logo
This date chat is really exciting.

As far as I’m aware… probably 8ish.
I agree
A few minor tweaks have to be made.
Yea I get the impression that tweaks need to be made for specifics but the chance for a u-turn has long passed.
If this BBC rebrand is going to be a success, then the team who make promo trailers for programmes need to learn the correct fonts and text placement for each channel and brand.
I was just watching BBC One London and the trailer for the 'Surviving 9/11' looked interesting as it just had a BBC long until the end board (not sure if this new or a one off). Sadly the BBC let themselves down again as on the end board the BBC Two logo appeared alongside the date/time of the programme but this was in BBC One's font.
For anyone who works in a marketing or promo team in a commercial company your biggest priority is brand accuracy. Why is the BBC so slack at this?!

This is one off but i assume this is a prototype design that will be seen once new look appears on screen with a new corporate logo. I believe the trailer still using the 1997 logo.

I'll take 8ish over 1ness anyday.

I guess you're being sarcastic?
The biggest change to BBC branding in 25 years on a forum about TV presentation and discussing the date is kinda understandable and of interest?

Not when nobody has the foggiest.
“I think it should be 27th September” isn’t the most fascinating discussion.

I think the trailer style is actually because the documentary is a BBC commission, and is 2 feature length documentaries that are airing first on BBC Two and iPlayer before being premiered across the world.
I wouldn't read too much into the logo being on screen throughout.
The font choice was interesting though, as if the programme was originally to be on BBC One but got sidelined to Two after the trailer had been edited.

It would be even nicer if they did it on Nov 2nd to mark the 85th anniversary of BBC Television ?
