I assume you mean false alarm rather than a drill, a drill implies a test that is scheduled. Back on air shortly

That music is certainly a blast from the past! I've not heard it for about 16 years. I would have thought they'd use the Sky News theme as they seem to have a looped version for international weather and the former COVID updates .

Yes. Same building; live netball programming was also affected.

I'm kinda curious what was happening on Sky News Australia during the technical fault, since they simulcast Sky News UK during overnight hours.

There were some fire engines involved.

I gather the filler doc got pulled specifically because of the presenting line-up!

Not a false alarm; from what I heard whilst stood outside, something in an edit suite was the issue. Third hand knowledge I should add!

To be fair it was a fairly odd choice, not least a presenter no longer at the station but there were a few comments about the content, being perhaps a little inappropriate for 5pm, without suitable warning. I’m not sure the content was problematic in my view, but there was maybe other content, climate change docs etc. that may have been better stand by tape. However I am surprised that the back up tape wasn’t changed when Isabel left, considering she is now heavily promoted as a lead presenter with another broadcaster.

I guess not too dissimilar to the DAT tapes fired on radio stations - you could/can tell when they've been overlooked for a while when the top 40 stations play the hits of 4 years ago! Though I don't know the specifics of how Sky News's backup programmes were selected. I suspect these things are looked at, say, every six months, and Isabel's departure is comparatively recent among everything else to be doing.
