The best part of it all is a proper intro shot of the ''set'' and a nice music during it. Reminds me of old Sky News, now it only needs a voiceover.

It used to be a loop of the international weather (in a Sky News format) presumably with data from the Met Office API. They have also shown some Virus Pandemic/ Lifting Lockdown information on some occasions which is same as the one shown on the main feed just before the end of the hour.

In recent months they have been showing clips from recent interesting interviews. The presenter has been edited out and there aren't any straps apart from a few cards which have been edited in after the fact. Makes a change from the constant weather updates.

They still show the weather loop but that's reserved for the TOTH now, so once an hour rather than 4(?) times an hour.

Is the YouTube feed what they show on tv outside the uk? Basically, like how BBC world works?
The app has been updated now - and a new sound for push alerts from the app
Here's the full transition from the old look to the new look, as seen on the International feed.

Really love the way the TOTH goes - especially the quick scroll through the headlines on the app (which seems to be generated live)

I’ve got a friend who composed/orchestrated the new theme tune- quite proud haha
My take on the new look so far...

I expected an evolution rather than a revolution branding-wise, and it is clearly so after the refresh. It builds on the new Sky branding concept developed with the umbrella brand redesign and on the looks developed for the US and local elections, however, the refresh looks superior to the old look, which did its job and it was clearly aligned with the Sky entertainment brand of the time (that is the reason it looked bland for many of us, including myself). However, there is still too much white.

The straps and L3 have the basis on the former OSP, however, they look cleaner and more legible for viewers specially watching on mobile devices. The use of the new Sky Headline typeface makes the styling of the straps much more stronger than using the standard Sky Text font. There can be improvements too, like reducing the use of text. Integrating the DOG into the ticker is very similar to the 2005 ticker they used on the relaunch. The opens are simple, however they retain many of the show's existing backdrops (except for All Out Politics), but they could have adopted the opening title style of standard bulletins and Sky News Today to unify these looks, with the clear exception of The Daily Climate Show.

Music wise, I like the new theme music. It is clearly not in par with the 2005 and 2011 remixes of the David Arnold/Adelphoi theme music, but the way they botched the 2011 remix for the 2015 version of the TOTH clearly paved the way for a new reorchestration. It is authoritative, yet light and reflective, and I think it fits with the Sky News' editorial policy of in-depth and analytical journalism.

One of the many stepbacks of the rebrand is the lack of voiceover. I thought Comcast wanted to bring back Bruce Hammal's Voice of God to align with its American counterparts. Another big stepback is the time cover for the International/YouTube stream, which does not only look unaligned, but the BG does not refer to the ticker's gradiented BG. As it was with the 2015 rebrand, I think this will be sorted later.

Overall, it may be a general disappointment, but I think the new look does a fair job of upgrading and making the OSP more in par with its competitors. 7/10

I'm afraid they have not. They are still with their adaptation of the former look (they use a version of the Sky News 2015 OSP with some tweaks, quite superior to the conservative and stale style of most Italian TV news) and their iconic theme music which has been used since its inception in 2004 (as part of a global sonic branding project for Sky Italia developed by Glyn M Owen, which has been since replaced in most cases by the standard Sky sound branding developed by Box of Toys). They developed a similar concept for Sky TG24 so as to unify their brand with that of Sky News, but the date they will implement so is still unknown.
Poor Mark looking disappointed when the Daily Climate Show part of the TOTH cut out his voice.
The News Hour’s new look is just in the same style as Sky News Today, with the blue. No more orange. It seems we have a generic look for most programmes but with a minor addition to including a show title where it’s needed. All the TOHs since 12 noon have been the same style, but at 2pm/3pm/4pm the presenter is stood up still.
My channel isn't providing comprehensive coverage of the new look, but I've edited a video comparing the weather bulletins at 0655 and 0725.

This new look gets clearly worse and worse as the day proceeds, what about all those nice title cards I am afraid Sky News tonight will have lost its one also an just gets a plain blue as replacement . Also on the international feed what about this gap between the .com logo and the ticker? The ticker stops just before the logo with a bit of a ligther background starts. Just destroys the whole proportions and is quite annoying because it attracts unnecessary attention .
Sky News Tonight doesn't lose the title card, as seen on a tweet posted here earlier this morning, it remains pretty much the same.
