Wrong package played on just now on Sky News - the climate conference story involving the Wombles with a report from Katie Spencer was cued by Vanessa but instead a report from Lisa Holland in Coventry about vaccines (including the band The Vaccines) played instead. Vanessa has back announced making reference it wasn’t the intended item and then Katie’s report was played.
Similar happened the other day too on the overnight shift with Sam Naz on air. Perhaps a result of reduced staffing? I suppose I’m a little surprised on both occasions they let the wrong play in full rather than cut off?

Not really - I've been sat in the Sky News gallery in the past where that exact reasoning has been given. Play report B (which you wanted to play later) now, then apologise and play report A (which you wanted to play in the first place) and you're running exact on-time. Stop report B after 30 seconds, apologise, play report A, then play report B, and you're running behind. In a tightly-timed programme (for example when you have a fixed-length back half) those 30 seconds can make all the difference.

I've edited such a bulletin (indeed, Sky's midnight bulletin - though not last night's) and Valley is exactly right.
Sky news doing what it does best this afternoon with the rolling coverage of the reshuffle. Adam in the Westminster studio with Beth and various reporters in Downing Street and the rest of Westminster feeding in with the latest

Looks like it could be the Breakfast background, which would support your theory about graphics issues.

Not entirely related to The Great Debate but I have to say I'm really liking Trevor as a presenter. I wasn't sure about his hiring to cover SRoS at first but I think it was a good decision.
They've previously billed week one as discussing whether COVID could be 'a good thing'. They must have either thought against this topic, or, they're planning to cover multiple talking points per show, as they're now trailing a discussion on whether the UK is 'running on empty' for week one.
