Leah doing 10:00-14:00 today. Sam Naz did the 00:00-06:00, she seems to be one of the only anchors who seems to just stick to the overnight shift where as others pop up across the schedule covering in daytime.

First appeared last week I think. At least it’s the same colour as the chairs… and not too big! Astonished it’s taken this long for something suitable to be found.

Not surprising all things considering since being dropped on the weekends for Sunrise he’s been in any slot as a cover presenter instead of hosting its own slot

Haven’t seen that weekend slot in a while - I assumed Stephen still anchored it pre his GB News move. Who anchors it these days - can’t be Gillian as she now does Anna Jones’s old weekend evening slot.

Yes - he did still anchor it. Maybe the poster got confused as in the GB News release it says he anchored Sunrise until 2019 (which he did) but doesn't mention that he continued on with weekend mornings until present day.

Sky News does need to change. I remember back to 2005 onwards - their presentation was brilliant. It's very boring and bland now - even the studios are! Something definitely needs to change.

I remember recording the first programme in 2005 from the new studio, with Eamonn and Lorna I seem to remember. I was simply blown away..the opening sequence of the camera sweeping across the newsroom and the curved video wall…all ahead of its time. Then they ditched it not long after. I also loved the breaking news banner across the video wall…brilliant

Just focusing on the first point, isn't that kind of... the plan? John Ryley has been quite vocal in his view that the "age of the all-powerful anchor is gone" and that the journalists (and the journalism) should be the focus.

And I doubt that the perception that Sky has bland presentation weighs heavily on the minds of bosses in any news organisation. The studios look fine, if a little formal, and matches the overall news branding.

I would venture that anyone who thinks the main Sky board are saying to themselves: "The breaking news straps don't whoosh quite as loudly as they used to - therefore heads must roll!" is sorely mistaken.
