Look North Yorkshire used the special sombre opening titles music, no special images though just the usual summer non Covid ones. Amy Garcia, dressed in all black, has been drafted in.
Calendar had the same set up as Anglia posted above with the same titles and the dark Buckingham Palace backdrop. There was just a silent slide linking in and out of the weather.
ITV News will broadcast from 9am to 10:30am tomorrow morning.
Having flicked between the BBC and ITV News, for me ITV News wins today. I can't fault Martine Croxall's initial announcement on the BBC, but once ITN got up and running it has been exemplary broadcasting. Absolutely amazing what they can achieve given their resources. ITN always pulls out all the stops and gets it just right on occasions like this.

I don't want this to sound harsh, but... why Phillip Schofield?
I don't dislike Schofe by any means, but does anyone know the rationale behind him being chosen to (co-)present a programme about the death of a member of the royal family?

I can't see why they can't just show regular programming as long as none of it's inappropriate, or at least find some programming to show as an alternative for people who don't want to watch the news coverage, feel like exactly the sort of thing the BBC should be offering on one of its outlets. It's not as if the news isn't there and easily accessible for those who want it.

ITV's "Fondly Remembered" special going out now is managing seamless conversation down the line without any of the usual awkward pauses. Lovely to see Selina Scott contributing too.

He’s interviewed the Duke a number of times and also presented a programme about him and the DofE award back in 2016.
