Hmm I don't know why - I always thought Futurama was much poorer than The Simpsons. I've always thought of it the same way I thought of Scrubs - both were good at pulling the heartstrings but not so much on the comedy.

I think Futurama is not supposed to be a classic comedy cartoon, at times.

And it makes a fantastic job in what it does; but too much being on Comedy, Sci-Fi etc. at the same time

Plus Futurama is coming back, so hype around the old series will increase until it starts.

Not sure there's any value to Sky in hyping Futurama when they almost certainly won't have rights to the new series when it arrives, though. There's a fine line between milking what you have while you still can, and spending your own money to polish a competitor's new car.

Yeah, if they're making a new series it's destined for Disney+, right? They're lucky they still have The Simpsons.

The Futurama revival is a Hulu original, so it will most likely end up on Star/Disney+

Not getting what you're saying, honestly

Futurama is a popular show, whether the revival of it will air on Sky or not (and it will not) doesn't matter, it still rates well, and the fact that it's having a Disney+ revival, speaks for itself.

It means it's successful, and there's still appetite for it; in. general, cartoon repeats do, otherwise Simpsons would've been dropped earlier

There are solid rumors that Nat Geo channels and Baby TV will shut down in Italy at the end of the year, so don't be surprised if they also shut down in the UK soon

This won't be a surprise, Nat Geo content has largely been concentrated within Disney+ and the channel was removed from Now TV last month. It's really just a matter of when at this point.

There's been talk of this for a while - someone on another forum, who claims to have insider knowledge, said it was supposed to close here back in February. Though of course this turned out to not be the case.

So Sky Sci-Fi launches tomorrow, I decided to check the feed as it is right now, currently they're showing "The Final Level: Escaping Rancala" (fitting) and currently, there is no SYFY DOG, which is a surprise since I assume they are sort of pre-launch testing. I'm curious to whether or not they've jumped the gun, which I doubt since the channel itself technically launches at 11am, but knowing Sky, they often do test things hours before.

EDIT: Turns out there is a break bumper that says "Rebooting 01 day" with a whisper voice saying "Sky Sci-Fi". No one has really recorded this break bumper from what I've seen. And turns out, the SYFY DOG was there, except it basically morphed into saying "Sky [Sci-Fi]: Rebooting 26th July", and in Sky fashion, faded out.

That Sky Sci-Fi logo looks pixelated but I'd agree, this is merely prepping the channel's DOG system to operate in the same way as the other Sky entertainment channels. 

Worth noting that they moved the channel in-house earlier this year in preparation for bringing it into line with Sky's branding

Perhaps the slightly pixellated look is intentional?

I imagine the Sky Showcase ident has been updated to contain Sky Sci Fi?
