If The Simpsons are going to be on Sky Showcase, which channel will air repeats of Futurama?

I don't know honestly, but wouldn't be surprised if Disney had a say about it
A little more detail in the Variety report - including a line stating it's looking unlikely that the HBO/Sky deal is unlikely to go beyond the already agreed 2025, which has been speculated previously

I don't think Disney are too bothered about the linear rights of legacy shows at the moment, and are happy for old shows to air on TV. I'd have thought Futurama does more business for Sky than driving Disney+ subs.

At THAT point, I'd honestly consider them merging Max and Atlantic, or move the Atlantic content to Max, recreating a kind of an "original" Sky One

They might sign an agreement with Showtime and the likes, but it wouldn't be the same
It'll be interesting to see what if anything is planned for Pick TV. At risk of speculating there's the potential for Sky Showcase to replace Pick TV on Freeview and Virgin.
I know, this may not sound necessary, but It would be interesting in the near future if Comcast (who owns Sky) as a whole, would rebrand as Sky in a major reorganisation, and phase out the NBCUniversal brand, wouldn't it?

No, Sky Showcase is clearly intended for pay TV only

Pick TV is clearly a kind of "lifestyle/reality show" channel, with the minimum effort spent on it, and they're happy with it

They have the money to make it a kind of grander channel like TV8 is in Italy, but in reality, they don't care, probably because pay TV penetration is historically higher in the UK, too
What a shame Sky One is being axed - but I'm looking forward to the launch of Showcase and Max

Sky is clearly an established grown up brand, both in the UK and in Europe.

Rebranding it with unknown brands like "NBC" would definitely do more damages than anything.
It'd also sound absolutely clumsy.

Au contraire, we've seen brands such as Universal TV disappearing overnight, in favor of Sky Comedy
I think it's a shame to lose the Sky One brand after all these years - and especially for two channels which sound like old movie channels (Sky Moviemax, anyone?) - although I guess this has been inevitable since the rebrand of the channels to focus on the content they show. I hope Sky Showcase doesn't become a place where they show one or two episodes of a series before directing people to watch the rest on the relevant channel.. It would just become messy IMO.

Id assume that Showcase would continue the run of a new series alongside the genre channel itll show content from. Basically Sky Sports Main Event but for the Entertainment channels.

Also. The logos look slick and clean. Surrounding presentation will be interesting to see come September

Pick TV tends to be older programmes, by the sounds of it Sky Showcase is going to be current offerings.

I'm surprised that they're going to squander their highest EPG slot (106) on what is essentially a repeats channel, unless they intend to go for a simulcast approach as with Sky Sports Main Event.

The first article also mentioned Sky Kids, which I thought was just an online app, rather than a channel.
Is there a reason Challenge isn't being re-branded as Sky Challenge?

They probably forgot they still owned it.
