Maybe this is just a personal opinion, but having "News at Ten" not airing at 10.00pm every Friday night just seems a bit odd and off to me. I know, pedantic attitude of mine, but having a bulletin with the time of the news in it, and then not airing it at the said time each week seems odd.
Why not simply have News at Ten Monday to Thursday and a Late News flexible on a Friday. Yes, they have done this before, but again that was in a different era of TV, I think now in 2022, a later flexible bulletin with a generic title would be useful, instead of having News at Ten airing at 11pm for example.
Again, this is just my personal view, I know others will not agree, and that is fine. Great to have different view points.

I agree, They should just call it the late news when it airs later than 10pm. The production would be the same it would just be the name. It seems daft calling it News at Ten when it airs at 1025pm or whatever time!
But the programme is called News at Ten. This isn’t an issue in the real world. News at Ten is a specific show where you kind of know what to expect. Yes, the “at Ten” bit doesn’t help, but neither would branding it as a generic bulletin (as it isn’t a generic bulletin) or giving it different names on different days.
Personally, I believe the 'At Ten' branding should remain, it occasionally moves a bit later but the majority of the time of the year its at 10:00

It should. It's the brand of the late bulletin, which is normally at 10 or at least in the 10pm hour. The other night with the FA Cup penalties was an exceptional circumstance, but I really don't think it matters.

No I agree. It’s not on Fridays because of Vera from 8:30pm- 22:20pm. but I think generic titles would be better. Last Friday it had news at ten branding at 11:30pm or something like that
I'm sure during the Euros the news was pushed back absurdly late and they used the generic late news titles, which is what I expected on Friday, too. There was also the incident when they used the temporary News at 10:30 titles. It just came to my mind; would it hurt for them to do a similar thing for Fridays when it goes out at 10:20?
Surprised the News at Ten pre-packaged promo is still being used really. I think it works quite well on a major news day where everyone knows the top story and the clips relate to one thing, but I think on days like today with a few different stories and the top headline having developed since the evening bulletin a studio preview would be better.

In that case, why bother any week?
Of course they could have aired it at lunchtime like the BBC do in a similar situation, but if you air the bulletin about 5 hours earlier than usual and before any of the days news has had chance to happen, so it’ll be all pre-prepared stories even more than normal, and hardly anyone would actually watch it in any case, you could argue what really is the point.
Stick some stories online, and viewers will cope for one day
If there's one bulletin ITV could dump, it's the Saturday regional one.
Considering ITV wanted to segue from the Racing to the Six Nations, I think they made the best decision which keeps sports fans happy, while the BBC still had a national and regional bulletin for those who really need to watch it.
Long gone are the days when it was one of the most important bulletins of the week for the football scores and goals.
I don't think dropping it entirely is right though- even if it airs at lunchtime instead it should air. The national lunchtime bulletin was extended to 20 minutes to compensate the loss of the evening edition. As it turned out they could have squeezed in the bulletins between the rugby and Masked Singer with the rugby finishing closer to the 1h45 mark, but it could just have easily hit 2 hours.
